Chapter 12

No'ones pov

The warmth of the sun shone through the windows and onto the cookie, Herb. Herb shuffled around before yawning and sitting up.

"Morning Herb!" Latte chirped, "We made breakfast, like, 30 minutes ago. Hurry up!"

"Mmm, what time is it?" Herb said groggily, rubbing his eyes.

"It's almost 10," Mint replied, "Everyone's up already."

"T-ten?!" Herb yelped, fully awake now, "Oh crap, I'm doing something really important today!"

With that Herb stumbled up and ran into the bathroom he went to last night. It was the only other place he knew in this spacious castle, and also the place where Sparkling and him confessed last night. Herb's eyes widened and he felt heat creep up to his cheeks as he remembered what happened last night. He kissed Sparkling! Oh god, I need to focus! Herb screamed to himself in his mind.

Herb brushed his teeth while multitasking and changing his pants. Then he spat out the foam and rinsed his teeth as he pulled on his socks. He set his toothbrush down, changed his top, and then took his toothbrush and paste into the previous room. He hastily grabbed his sleeping bag, rolling it up tightly, picking up his clothing.

"Hold up," Mint raised an arm as Sparkling entered the room to witness the scene unfold.

Herb dashed towards where Sparkling was standing confused, and glanced at the taller male. Their eyes locked for a split second which caused Herb to falter. Taking this as an opportunity, Sparkling grabbed Herb's wrist causing Herb to blush at the touch.

"Where are you going in such a rush?" Sparkling asked.

"R-remember when I said my parents are coming?" Herb whispered into Sparkling's ears and he nodded, "They're supposed to arrive at 1'ocklock!"

"Breakfast wouldn't hurt, think of it as an early lunch," Sparkling reasoned.

"Yeah but-"

"Hello dear friends!" Madeleine boomed from down the hall, "We made breakfast almost half an hour ago! It's going to get cold!"

"I mean, but like," Herb stammered nervously, "I-I guess if I leave in 15 minutes?"

"What about this, I'll put your luggage into my car while you eat. If you still don't think you'll have enough time, I'll help set you home up for them. Plus, I'll make a good impression too," Sparkling suggested, "I mean, if you want."

"That would be kind of you," Herb breathed, "I have no other way of getting home anyways, but you should probably run your bar instead."

"Sure," Sparkling chuckled and took Herb's stuff.

Sparkling strolled down the corridor with Herb to where Madeleine was standing with a grin. They splitted off there, Herb following Madeleine left and Sparkling turning right. All the way, Madeleine was chattering about Espresso and Sparkling.

Soon, they arrived at a large table where everyone was seated, except Cocoa, mint, Espresso, and Sparkling.

"G-good morning," Herb greeted, sitting down besides vampire who was eating a strawberry-syrup coated pancake, "Where's Cocoa and Espresso?"

"Oh, Cocoa's with Mint," Latte replied taking a sip of latte, "And my lil' brother left at freaking 6 am to work on something. He is such a workaholic."

"He's my workaholic," Madeleine boasted causing Raspberry to lightly punch him. 

"Oh," Herb said as he took a large bite from his pancake.

"What's your hurry?" Vampire asked resting his head onto his hands, "You're gonna choke like that."

"Oh, my parents are coming," Herb said taking a large gulp of milk before resuming at eating his pancakes.

"Wha- really?!" Clover exclaimed in surprise, "I thought they were busy.. y'know."

"They managed to squeeze in the time," Herb said finishing his second pancake with a swift bite.

"Wow, they sound like they're really fancy and never have the time for you," Parfait commented.

"No! They're awesome and laid back, it's just they have a lot of things to do!" Herb said giving an offended look.

"O-oh sorry!" Parfait squeaked nervously.

"It's fine," Herb giggled.

"Ready to go?" Sparkling questioned Herb as he walked in, "I've already ate by the way."

Herb nodded and stood up, "Bye everyone!"

Herb rushed with Sparkling to his car before they heard everyone's responses. Along the car ride, Sparkling wanted to speak but didn't know what to say. Herb took no notice and was deep in thought on how his friends would react if they actually did meet his parents and sibling. Herb gave Sparkling a hug of goodbye and grabbed his things the second the car stopped, which made Sparkling flush. Sparkling opened his mouth to speak, but Herb was gone so fast he didn't have a chance. Sparkling was left alone, already missing him.

Herb's Pov [nearly 1'ocklock]

There. I had prepared everything just in time. I spent the most sunny day of the chilly autumn week on sticking inside. Well, half of it anyways. My frozen pie was ready to go, the guest room set up, an adorable plushie I won in the carnival wrapped up, and I had even fitted the new plants I took from the haunted house into my garden when I received a text.

Go relax for a bit, sorry sweetie!

I groaned upset and slightly annoyed, I was looking forward to them arriving! I was even panicked when I thought I couldn't finish preparations on time! Oh well, it can't be helped, they're legendaries anyways and it's not like they aren't coming. They're just late.

I pocketed my phone and decided to tend to my garden for a while until Sparkling's bar would open. When it was already 6:30, I decided to go to Sparkling's until my parents texted me
