Hunter

"Daisies are lovely flowers" for some reason that phrase had been replaying inside my head for the whole day. Not even after she left after she had game of Mortal Kombat with my brother. It was like she was continuously whispering it in my ear, as if she knew something I didn't.

One step forward, A billion steps back.

"What's wrong man? You seem a little out of it...is it because Cas found other companions" he wiggled his eyebrows provocatively before staring behind me. I craned my neck to see what he was looking at and wished that I didn't. There she was laughing along something that Didi Berdodo probably said which I doubt was even funny at all.

How much competition do I have to go through to have clear shot at this girl
First Dylan Strom - BUTT RIM
Second was my best friend Callum Holland who apparently also like Cassidy
Third was ultra foreign Damian Bernardi
Fourth was the lesbians
Fifth was everyone else.

It's like a bad remake of Scott Pilgrim

Except I wasn't only against the world I was against everything even the fucking air is against me.

"Good Morning Callum, Callum's friend" she nodded as she passed us not addressing me by name on purpose. Callum elbowed me and chuckled.

"Pfft Callum's friend, man she hit you low" Cal teased as he walked with me towards the school following just behind Cassidy and Her companion. I haven't really had chance to talk to her but I will tomorrow during Savannah's dance class. I'll make sure of it.

It was free period and Callum was still in one of his classes and I was left alone trying to shoot hoops in an attempt to pass time and forget about the bugging feeling brought by none other than the mysterious boot clad girl that moved rhythmically as if gravity had forgotten her. The Tiny Dancer was killing me and my brain was going to cave in.

"The ball isn't going to shoot itself y'know Hunter?" The woman in question had spoken and sat on the partly damp grass beside the basketball court. I sighed just as I was trying to forget she comes barreling right in, this girl was killing me.

"I thought I was Callum's friend?" I smirked and tossed the ball to her arms which she gracefully caught and dribbled by the concrete beside her. She held out her arm for me and smiled as I pulled her up off her sitting position.

"Aren't you?" She teased dribbling the ball once more and smirking at me. I rolled me eyes at her playful behavior as she hovered around me like we were playing a serious game

"You know what I mean" I scoffed as I attempted to grab the ball but to no avail as she maneuvered her self around me shot the ball shooting it clean through

"I can't let Damian know you name he'll look you up, I figured you'd like the privacy" she shrugged tossing the ball over to me. I figured now would be the best time to talk. I took in a deep breath and offered her to take a seat on the grass

"I now you're hiding something, I don't know what is but I'll find out" I said looking up the sky, feeling content that this was the first time me and the tiny dancer were actually having a real conversation, she hummed in understanding

"Don't swim in waters filled with sharks, Hunter....you'll die" she said as if she was pained the last part seeming as if it wasn't part of the metaphor but a part of a promise

"I've been dropping the crumbs you just have to find the cookie" she smiled, kissed my cheek and stood up leaving me to ponder on her endless metaphors. I hummed in response but before she completely left I had one more thing to say

"Hey Caz! You're right Daisies are lovely flowers" I grinned catching her surprised face but she smiled none the less

"It's Cassidy" she winked trudging away from me as I passed the ball form hand to hand I smiled. I was just a few crumbs away from finding the cookie
