AN :  This chapter is going to be the pov. of Nandini, first a little bakground of how she was raised and her meeting with Virendra and then Ram saving her life. Sorry for any typos and happy reading!

Nandini stood in front of the mirror as she set her hair up as her mother had taught her to do so. She took her time to choose the perfect diamond earrings that would go to her outfit, after all she wanted her first meeting to go perfectly. Nandini knew her father expected nothing but perfection from her, she had been spending months with him in the office to learn from him. Her older brother was supposed to be the one who inherited the business, but after her brother fell in love and secretly married a woman out of their social class her father had cut all ties with him.

Nandini walked outside of her room and to the main room, naively hoping her parents would be there to wish her good luck on her first meeting she was doing without the presence of her father. The living room area was empty, but the home chef had placed all her favorite food on the dinning table. Nandini sighed as she looked at her watch on her wrist, making sure she had enough time to eat breakfast. Satisfied with that she still had an hour before the meeting started, she sat down on the chair with elegance just like her mother had taught her when she was little.

"Where is mom?" she asked Genelia, one of the staff members who had worked the longest with them

"Nandini ma'am your mother went to have breakfast with some of her friends" Genelia answered softly, and she hated how she felt the familiar ache in her heart. Nandini did not want it to hurt, she should know better but she can't help but feel her confidence shatter when her own mother would rather have breakfast with her friends than her. At least when her brother used to live with them, the two of them would eat breakfast together.

"Thank the chef for the food, say it tasted exquisite. Why don't you and the rest of the staff bring the rest of the food home to your families. Because I could never eat all this alone" she said softly before asking the driver to get the car ready.

"Where to ma'am?" the driver asked after she wore her seat belt

"Silver moon hotel" she replied as she looked through her notes in the car

Nandini smiled relieved feeling the meeting went well, she looked at her phone expecting her father to call or text asking how it went but she heard nothing from him. Nandini felt her eyes welling up, it was childish how she still desperately longed for her father's approval.

"Miss, you dropped this"

Nandini turned around seeing a man in a grey suit holding one of her earrings that must have fallen off during her mental breakdown few minutes earlier. Nandini felt her cheek turn slightly red, embarrassed by how she had put her walls down in a public place for everyone to judge.

Nandini straightened up so she could appear more composed and answered "thank you" as gracefully as she could. Nandini felt her heart skip a beat, as the man in front of her looked at her with brown eyes as if he was trying to read her. Nandini quickly grabbed the earrings and gave him a small smile she had perfected all these years by her mother's training, so she could be the perfect that belonging to an elite family.

"I'm Virendra Kapoor" she heard him say as he forwarded his hand to shake

"Nandini" she replied as she shook her hands with him
