"Hey, what's up?"

Callum asked the tall brunette who was standing at the cash register trying to buy cigarettes.

"Why do you care?"

He replied, expecting the blonde to give him a break and sell him a pack of red Marlboros.

"Don't answer a question with a question."

Callum said it a little more pointedly. Daniel sighed and fixed his gaze on Callum's heavenly eyes, which he loved to look into.

"I'm fine."

He smiled and was about to pick up the box with cigarettes that was already on the counter. Callum, however, snatched it from him in a flash and wasn't going to give it to him until he told him the truth.

"Callum, listen. We don't know each other at all, okay? It was a mistake and you should forget about me. Trust me, it's better this way."

He smiled again, but the only thing that was really under that smile was pain.

It was such a pained smile that Daniel couldn't even keep it on his face. The boy with the freckles around his nose knew it and it broke his heart.

He didn't want to see him like this, he didn't want him to leave, and maybe he'd rather never see him again, but deep down he knew it was a complete lie.
