It was easy then
Promising you
You were the only one
And I would wait for you
I loved you back then
The first love I'd ever know
And if you never came back
Then I'd just stay alone
I have a confession now
I've been meaning to make
I promised not to love another
And I promised to wait
Although I still love you
After all the tears I cried
I put my past behind
And moved on with my life
You were my first love
And always will be
But I deserve someone better
Who wants to love me
So when I made the promise
Looking in your eyes
I feel no guilt confessing
My promise was a lie
