Best Date Ever ft. Rue

Third person

"Dude just take a chill pill and go ask her!" Alex says.

"And if she says no?" Reggie says. "And then she doesn't even want to be my friend anymore and... and-"

"Okay first of all she's gonna say yes because any girl would be extremely lucky to go out with someone as awesome and funny as you, second of all she's clearly into you."

"Yea but who would want to date a stupid guy?"

Alex randomly pulled out a spay bottle of water and sprayed Reggie in the face with it.

"Hey! What the heck!? What what that for!?" Reggie says annoyed.

"I'm the only one allowed to call you the s word." Alex says.

"Yea and you're smart, so you must be right."

"Shut up okay. Now, are you gonna go ask her out or am I gonna spray you with water again." Alex said holding the bottle at him like a weapon.

"Alex, I can't-"

He sprays him with the water.

"Alex stop!" Reggie says while getting sprayed. "Okay fine I'll ask! Happy?"

"Awweee look at you. You're growing up." Alex says. "You're gonna go on your first date. They really do grow up so fast." 

Just then Rue poofs into the studio and Alex smirks at Reggie. "No wait Alex not now, I-"

"Rue! Me and Reggie were just talking about you and he has something he would like to ask you. I'm gonna head out now, bye!" He says a poofs away.

Reggie sighs, knowing Alex backed him into a corner here.

"That was odd." Rue says after Alex is gone. "What did you want to ask me?"

"Oh...um I uh..." Reggie stammers. He didn't know how to get the words out and he most certainly didn't want to sound stupid or look like a fool. He already felt half way there though with being a little damp from the attack of Alex and his spray bottle. "Well...I was just kinda wondering, I mean hypothetically if I were to maybe .... I don't know ask you out on like a date...what would you say?"

"Are you asking me out in a date or like a date?" Rue asks.

"I - uh, a date I guess." Reggie says nervously. "But only if the answer's yes!" He quickly adds. "If it's no then this conversation never happened."

"Alright. I would like to go on a date with you."

"Yeah I figured you'd say no, I mean, why would you wanna date a guy like me ya know?"

"I said yes silly." Rue says. "So, what do you have planned?"

"Have planned?" Reggie says internally freaking out. He hadn't made it this far yet. He was barely ready to ask her out and express a yes let alone plan a whole date. "I mean...I totally have something planed." He says. "It's gonna be the best date ever! You're gonna have so much fun, you're gonna absolutely love it! Gotta go, meet me at the uh, meet me here at Umm....what time is good for you?"

"How about seven?" The smiles. She thought it was so adorable and sweet he was trying so hard for her.

"That works for me, meet me here at seven." Reggie says.

"Great." Rue smiles.

"Perfect." Reggie says back.

Rue poofs out of the studio and Reggie plops down in the couch having no idea what to do now. He promised her the best date ever. How his he supposed to come up with something by seven? That's in six hours.

"So how'd it go?" Alex grins poofing next to him.

"She said yes." He groans.

"Yes! See I told you!" Alex says. "Why you look like you were told your dog just died?"

"Because I promised her the best date ever, and I can't do that I'm not smart enough to -"

"Hey!" Alex says whipping out his spray bottle and spraying him again. "What did I say, I'm the only one allowed to make fun of your intelligence."

"Okay okay! Just stop spraying me." Reggie says whipping water off his face. "Just help me plan a date please."

"Awh man Reg, I wish I could." Alex says. "But I'm meeting up with Willie in like five minutes."

"Have fun." Reggie says.

"Have fun on your date to, just be yourself. If that's not enough for her she doesn't deserve you." Alex says.

"Thanks." Reggie says and Alex poofs away to meet with Willie leaving Reggie by himself to come up with the perfect date.

**six hours later

Reggie didn't waste a second of all the 6 hours he had planning the best first date he could think of. It's now seven o'clock and Reggie's nervously waiting in the studio for Rue.

What if she changed her mind? What if she doesn't come? What if this was a terrible idea? What if she hates it?

Reggie could not quite his thoughts as he impatiently waited for Rue with a heavy feeling in his chest and a lump in his throat. His stomach was in a knot and his thoughts were racing.

Rue poofs into the studio wearing a pair of ripped jeans and a black tank top with a green cardigan. Her hair feel perfectly past her shoulders and her blue eyes sparkled in the light of the studio. She smiles at Reggie while he stares at her in shock that one she actually showed up and two with how gorgeous she looks.

"Hey." She says.

"H-hi." Reggie says. "You look really great." Reggie didn't even change his clothes since the last time they talked. He was still in his black ripped jeans, black tank with his red flames tied around his waist and his leather jacket over his tank.

"Thanks." Rue smiles. "So do you."

"So uh...I um, I promised the best date ever so I hope you like it so first I thought we could go to like a fancy restaurant but then I remember we can't eat so I scratched that idea so then I remembered you you said when you were a kid you really liked the show Hannah Montana but I couldn't find that anywhere but then Julie said it was on Disney+ so I thought we could watch that in here and like it would be a fun movie night and stuff but then I thought that would be boring but I couldn't think of anything else so to make it more fun I thought I could get snacks but then I remembered we can't eat so-"

"Reggie relax." Rue interrupts his rambling. She found it really sweet that he put so much thought into this when he didn't need to. "I don't think watching Hannah Montana with you will be boring, I'm surprised you remember I said that."

"But I promised the best date ever." Reggie says. "And I feel like I can't come up with anything good enough."

He sits down on the couch and Rue sits down next to him. "Do you feel like you can't come up with something good enough, or is it that you think you're not good enough?" She asks. "Because you don't have to do a whole bunch of things to impress me, you and you alone are enough. I'm lucky to just have you. No matter what we do it'll be the best date ever because I'll be spending it with you."

"Really?" Reggie says.

"Really." Rue says. "So...you said something about a fun movie night and watching Hannah Montana?"
