What is this you ask? Well, this is a short series on the Doors game (made by LSplash) in which we take a better look into the lives of the monsters inside. This turned out more to be an AU than I thought I guess.
Please be aware that this was writ...
This chapter contains the following: Character deaths, descriptions of gore, and mentions of eating humans.
The Eyes leaned against the Reception desk, idly clicking a pen before attempting to click the tune to 'Rush E' in rapid succession. Of course, they failed, but the choice of song was fitting. Why does Rush even want me in here? They wondered, glancing at the clock.
"I see Rush really meant it when he said he'd bring you to me," said a bodiless voice, causing The Eyes to flinch. They glared at the clock, which was beginning to tick past eleven. The voice picked up again. "I don't suppose you know why you are here."
"Not sure. Why are we here?" asked The Eyes slowly, unsure whether to exit the room, but even if he did, he would probably be followed by the voice anyway. "You are a stranger to humans. Formally said, if that's what you prefer, you are an 'anomaly' to them." the Eyes hadn't heard the word 'humans' for a while and the word dropped like a rock into a river, causing ripples of uncertainty to rise. "Perhaps you'd like to introduce yourself to them, and make yourself more...familiar to them?"
"Okay, first, where exactly are humans just randomly going to come from?" asked The Eyes. "You—"
A ding came from the elevator in front of them and they jumped back, startled. Out came a human holding hands with a little girl. The human only had to take one look at The Eyes before freezing in place and staring right into each of The Eyes, not making a sound. The Eyes shifted around uncomfortably, unsure of what was going on, when the human keeled over and collapsed on the floor. A pool of blood started to form under the human, and it made some sort of strange choking noise before laying still.
"Oh no. Its heart just burst. That's unfortunate." said the voice, as if it were being sarcastic. The end of that remark had a hint of pleasure to it as if this... being... had rather enjoyed the scene unfolding in front of them.
"Wait, wha..." The Eyes stared in horror at the mess he'd made. The girl screamed and stumbled backwards into a corner, face becoming a mess of tears. The Eyes, swallowing their fear, slowly reached out a hand. "Hey," they whispered, "It's okay. We won't hurt you, we promise." The girl began to reach for The Eyes' hand and she slowly looked at their face.
The girl fell over, blood smearing on wallpaper as her limp, lifeless body slid against the wall.
"Wait, no—no, come on, get up—" the Eyes frantically shook the girl by the shoulders, then moved on to the adult that was with her. "I'm sorry! I don't know what I did!" They started sobbing in intense remorse. "I'm so so sorry..."
"You were made for this, Eyes. All of you were. And now that more are coming here to stay, that means more for me to eat."

AUTHOR'S NOTE
Ah, I love lovely, fluffy and cute "family" stories that turn out to be a dark psychological thriller! Not that I think this is much of a thriller (I made the rookie mistake of getting right into the story as a small child and now I don't get to the story quick enough). Fun fact: This was originally going to be a Oneshot Book, but I decided to give it a bit more lore instead (I'd say this is like an AU).
