It's now eleven o'clock. Nothing seems to be happening, but I know for a fact that something definitely doesn't want me here. I know it's also not possible to go back the way I came. The elevator only has one button and it takes me up to stupid Room 1.

I encountered Rush at least two more times throughout my aimless wander in this place. Both times, I was reincarnated. I'm beginning to think I probably died on a car crash on the way here because this place is like hell. Maybe I'm just having a fever dream.

Everything here is so surreal.

I think I have Rush all figured out. There were a few pitch-black rooms where the lights don't work at all, but asides from that I think the lights flicker when he comes. Then there's this horrible ear-killing scream as it 'rushes' past.

Heh heh, get it?

Ooookay, this hotel made me crazy.

I've tried a number of things to avoid him; running, hiding, or screaming back at him just as loudly. The strange being that helps me introduces themselves as the Guiding Light. They tell me about how Rush works. It doesn't sound much like there's any other threat here, but nevertheless, I'm keeping my gun at the ready. I've learned to hide from Rush, so that's that.

Another door open, another dark room. I'm not scared of the dark. As a kid, it wasn't very efficient to have a light on all night. I sigh and step inside, deciding that I'll just feel around and work it out from there. The floor continues for a good few steps, before a wall is shoved in front of me and I stick to it. The hotel is silent. In the black depths, a shift.

"Pssst."

I shrug it off. There's been a few annoying noises, but they just add to the unsettling aura. They're all harmless. I'm just hearing noises.

"Pssst."

"Shut up," I whisper to myself, "It's all noises."

Then, out of nowhere, something jumps at me and I feel human-like teeth close around my arm. I scream and shake it off, but the sharp pain stays with me. "OH GOD, OH GO--" It's gone in an instant before I can draw breath, and, thinking in a panicked frenzy, I start running in all directions trying to find the next door.

"Pssst."

"SHUT UP!" I swivel to look for it, about to shoot the crap out of it, and it hovers just above me; some strange creature with dark tentacles and bright, beady eyes. An inhuman, freaky smile is plastered on its face. It screams in my face and disappears. The cool knob of the next door suddenly comes into contact with my hand and I crash onto the patterned carpet, gasping for air. "Oh my Lord. Oh my Lord." The terror only persists as I continue through this hell of a place.

AN: Oof- Screech is genuinely one of my favorites, I don't care what you say

And now, a short message from the Guiding Light:

Call it what you want; a stroke of luck. A fortunate escape. I'm calling it a simple mastery of doing what I need to.
