TENSURA: When void froze

CHAPTER 2: First meeting

Rimuru POV

It was just another day. I woke up pretty early, even earlier than Shuna, and prepared myself a cup of tea to drink while watching the sunrise

The previously dark and gloomy night sky started getting more lovely and aggressive colors

Sunrays started making their way through the Jura forest's thick trunks of trees, they originated from a massive shining orb that started climbing up the sky

It was as if colors came out of that orb in waves. The orb itself seemed to be white while the light that came out of it was undoubtedly yellow. Later that yellow slowly turns into an orange that spreads through everything, even the clouds, until it, at last, turns into the usual blue color we see during most of the day

As I was watching the scene before me unfold I heard the sliding doors of my classical Japanese house open

" I see that you are already awake, Rimuru-sama" said Shuna while kneeling on her knees, bowing her head slightly while the three fingers from each of her hands were touching the tatami floor in a respectful manner

" I thought that I told you that you don't have to bow to me, Shuna" I said while jumping in her arms, in my slime form of course

Shuna didn't say anything, she just smiled and started walking with me to the canteen which we built in the middle of the village

We are still eating there since we don't have enough resources to trade  amongst each other in our village, so we decided to create a system where people, or in this case monsters, are provided with clothing, food, shelter, and whatever might they need in exchange for their labor

Once we reached the canteen I was greeted with the horrific sight of Rigurd wearing nothing but an apron and pants

" Rigurd wear a shirt!" As I shouted Rigurd turned to look at me, horror evident on his face

" Yes, Rimuru-Sama!" He answered and put a shirt on in haste

' Gaah, I wish that I never saw that'

' YES! Thousand times YES!' I shouted and suddenly felt my head, or whatever, becoming a little light before it just went back to normal

' Eh, what was I doing... probably nothing important since I don't remember it' I thought as I transformed into my human form and took my seat at the table

' What is it Raphael' I asked my partner since it was obvious that she wanted to say something

And there she goes with her favorite catchphrase

We were served steak from one of the monsters that was haunted last night, some salad, bread, and freshwater

The meal wasn't anything fancy, but due to the herbs that we used as spices it was delicious

After breakfast, we headed toward the village hall to look over the schedule for today and read the reports about the previous day

Reports about the previous day revealed that we have finished building five houses which will be able to hold up to seven residents each. It could go beyond these seven but then it would become cramped and not so comfortable to live
