Chapter 11: Thousands years worth of feelings

Rimuru POV

I looked in horror at the woman standing at the entrance of the house. Snow white hair paired with icy blue eyes that looked at me coldly and made me feel shivers down my spine, but it wasn't only because of the woman's looks, the aura she was emitting was terrifying

Before me stood a woman that I love more than anything else in the world and yet I couldn't help but feel scared

Why?

Because right now I was taking a bath with another woman, her niece. Of course, I wasn't even thinking of cheating on her but the situation she found us in was gesturing to something completely different

" Ve-Velz..." I said while cold sweat ran down my skin, which is quite weird since I can't sweat

My beloved girlfriend looked down at me with an angry expression, but I could also see in her eyes that she was hurt

I hated seeing her like that, but it's not like I knew what should I do in a situation like this, so I did what any monster would, I followed my instincts

Dashing forward at full speed, I found myself embracing Velz before some people could even blink

" I am glad to see you... and please let me explain this" I said the last part through the pain strained

" You better do" she said and pulled me in for a kiss

" Waaah! Aunt Velzard what are you doing here!? And what did you do to my bestie!?" Milim shouted from within the bath

At that moment, both Velzard and I turned around toward Milim only to find her pointing at us with her mouth wide open. Velzard and I chuckled at this and after that, she approached Milim and started patting her head

" What am I doing here? This is my house you know?" she said with a soft smile

Milim looked at her in a failed attempt to realize what is the meaning behind her words. Velzard chuckled at her cute reaction while I approached them

" And what's wrong with me kissing my boyfriend?" she said and pulled me in for another kiss

I have to admit it, the face Milim made was priceless. It looked as if the top of her hair turned into an antenna and shot up

" Rimuru and aunt Velzard are dating!?" he shouted and from the force of her voice she jumped out of the water

After we were done with the bath we went to the living room where we currently have some green tea that I brewed. The atmosphere in the room is both awkward and tense. From what Velzard told me, the relationship between her and Milim is not the best, so maybe I will have to help them a little to get along better

I know for a fact that Velzard is deeply regretting that she wasn't there for Milim all these years ago and I wouldn't really be surprised if Milim herself still holds a grudge

Every time they made eye contact they would awkwardly turn their heads to the side at such an inhuman speed that even I could barely follow it

I wanted to help them get along better but I didn't know how to accomplish that, and I didn't want to rely on Raphael for two reasons

First, I believe that this is something I have to do without anyone's help

Second, when it comes to understanding emotions, Raphael is not the best choice for assistant...  though she proved to be very helpful with me and Velzard

" S-so, isn't this quite a coincidence that my girlfriend and bestie are actually related" I asked nervously while scratching my cheek

" Ah, r-right" Velz said with such a nervous voice that I started to doubt that she is the same always proud and confident person I know
