Falling For You

~Thirteen~

Third Person's POV

The whole day Mrunali was anxious about what happened in the shop. She couldn't help but get distracted while doing any work. Her mind was keep replaying the scene where Riddhima hugged him and he didn't pushed her.

In office Abhiraaj was also a little confused as to after coming out from the stationary shop why Mrunali became so quiet. He wanted to ask her but then he thought to let it be but now it's eating him up.

The night came and as always Abhiraaj was late from the office. Everyone already had their dinner and are sleeping in their respective rooms except for Mrunali. Sleep was far away from her eyes.

Sitting on the floor near the couch Mrunali was surrounded with different types of colors. A sketch book and pencil in her hand as she was making the new design for the new jewellery collection.

This was the scene Abhiraaj saw when he came home. He looked at his wife in her pajamas doing something on her sketch book with so much concentration. "You haven't slept?" Abhiraaj's voice startled Mrunali. "Nahi vo bas time ka pata nahi chala." Mrunali replied.

(No it's just I didn't realise the time.)

"I'll heat the food." Mrunali said and nodding Abhiraaj went inside the bathroom while Mrunali went down to heat the food. As Mrunali set the food on the table Abhiraaj came down and Mrunali served him. Mrunali sat with him as he ate.

"Kuch kehna chahti ho?" Abhiraaj asked her feeling her stare on him but she shook her head making him shrug. After dinner both make their way back to the room. Mrunali started cleaning her stuff and Abhiraaj was on his phone.

(You want to ask something?)

Can't controlling herself Mrunali asked "Ek baat puchu?" and Abhiraaj hmmed. "Shaadi ke din jab aapne jo bhi mujhse kaha tha vo kyu kaha tha?" Mrunali asked and Abhiraaj's finger stopped mid way on his phone. "What do you mean?" Abhiraaj asked and Mrunali shrugged.

(Can I ask you something?)
(At the wedding night the things you said to me why did you said it?)

"Its just if you love someone else then you should've never said yes to this marriage." Mrunali said. "What nonsense are you talking? I love someone else? Who told you this?" Abhiraaj asked getting angry.

"Nobody. I saw you today with that girl in the shop and she also told me that she is your girlfriend." Mrunali said and Abhiraaj stiffened. Mrunali noticed how he become stiff and her heart clenched. Was Riddhima right? Is she really his lover?

"And you assumed things in your head? And believed her?" Abhiraaj said and Mrunali looked at him.
"If you saw me with her then you should've also seen that she was hugging me. I was not." Abhiraaj said. "But you didn't pushed her either." Mrunali's voice come out low.

"That because I don't want to dirty myself touching a woman like her. And love her? Heck I don't even know who she is for fuck's sake!! Loving her is a very far thing! But why am I even explaining to you?!" Abhiraaj said angrily and Mrunali looked at him.

"Right. Why are you explaining to me? Afterall who am I to you? I'm just Rathore family's daughter-in-law. Right. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked you."

With that Mrunali laid on the couch turning her back and cover herself with the blanket. Her tears which she was holding since morning finally fell as she cover her mouth to stop the sobs.

Abhiraaj was shocked at what Mrunali said and look at his wife turning away. He can see her whole body shaking which means she is crying. Abhiraaj's heart clenched.

He wanted to comfort her but he couldn't which made him even more angry and he leave the room and went to the bar in the house to have a drink.
