I sit in silence

I sit in silence. My thoughts whirling like the planets whirling the sun. I'm sure it hasn't even been seven days and so much has happened. I'm now traveling with a man, a man whom I have barely met, a man whom I have not seen the face off, a man whose intention was to turn me in for piles of metal stuff.

I glance at Mando.

He sits in silence, posture straight, and face ahead looking into space. I frown. He's like a robot. I bite my lip and look around. I'm hungry. My stomach growls and hurts- nothing I'm not used to.

I hold my tongue.

I wonder what he looks like. Does he have brown hair? Or is it blonde? Red? Black? What about his eyes? Blue? Brown? Green?

I wonder if he has a beard. A mustache? Nothing? My mind wanders as I try to imagine who could be under the mask.

A giggle escapes Grogu. I peak a look to my side to see him playing with some metal object. Mando glances at him.

"Stop touching things." He takes away the metal toy as Grogu try's touching it again. I hold back a smile, but quickly it fades as I think of the consequences.

Would Mando get mad? Would he hit him? Hit me for not watching him?

Quickly, I snatch the baby who is surprised and keep him in my lap as I sit back down. I don't want to upset Mando. He's doing a lot for us, taking us in with him. I don't want to be a burden, I don't want to be left behind, or hit.

Mando glances at us then goes back to looking forward. I frown. Was that a warning glance? No. I can't assume, he's nice..right?

I think back to when he had found me in the cave after I had ran off. He's nice. He is. I can trust him. But he left...

Wait. No. He came back. So, it's alright now. Right?

I frown and I glance down to check on Grogu, who stares at me. Yeah, he's right.

We can trust him.

"We have to find a place to settle." My eyes snap to Mando's helmet. He's glancing at his control panel. "Some place far, some place we can lay low. Mhh." He mumbles to himself.

"Let's see." It's quiet before he speaks again.

"Sorgan Looks like there's no star port, no industrial centers, no population density. Real backwater skug hole. Which means it's perfect for us."

He turns back to us. "You two ready to lay low and stretch your legs for a couple of months?" A smile spreads on my face at the idea of all three of us being together.

Quickly, I nod. "Yeah!" I smile softly. He chuckles before motioning to Grogu.

"And you little womp rat?" I frown. "H-hey." I mumble upset. He tilts his head. "I'm teasing." I nod slowly. My cheeks flustered. "O-Oh."
