Liz' POV
'You both can stay here as long as you want to, I don't mind,' the strange man that called himself my father told us.
Timmy nodded. He had crossed his arms and practically refused to talk to him. Not that I said much, I couldn't, I simply was too nervous. He was about to tell me the complete truth; he was just avoiding the subject. But he couldn't do that for too long, he promised me.
So that's why I muttered a 'thanks' about five minutes too late. I didn't notice though, 'daddy' just raised one eyebrow and shot me a confused look, so I assumed.
'Are you nervous, honey?'
'Don't call me honey.'
''Do you want to know the truth?'
'Yes.'
That was the moment he just got up from the couch and started to make a drink, dammit he was annoying. Couldn't he just start already? He was freaking me out!
'Want a cookie?' He asked us. Timmy shook his head angrily.
I just got up, walked towards him and took the box out of his hands. 'Stop this, it's enough, just tell me already! Every time you almost tell me, but get up and go do something else. Please don't waste our time, we've got better things to do. So just sit down and tell me. Now.'
He sighed. 'You're right. I'll tell you.' he pointed towards the chair I was sitting in two minutes ago. 'Sit down.' He sighed one more time. 'What do you know?'
'Timmy is Marge's daughter. Marge is dead, Phill is Tall Man, my mother kidnapped Timmy.'
He nodded, 'okay then', he swallowed and bowed towards us. 'Phill... was in love with your mother. But I was in the way, and he hated that. He hated it even more when we got you, Liz. That's why he started threatening me. He told me that if I didn't leave, he would do something to you. I wasn't allowed to have any contact, to look for you or to ever use your name again. That's why I left,' you could see he had a hard time telling us this, 'but I went to India. There I heard the news about you, of course, your picture went all over the world. But he started threatening me again. I had to stay away, or he would kill you. So I did. I stayed in India.'
'T-then why did he kidnap me?' I asked.
'Your mother didn't love tall man. She rejected him, and he couldn't stand that. That's why he took you.'
'So... so that's why you left.'
He nodded, 'indeed. I returned when I heard that you were free and looking for your kidnapper. And, I can help you.'
'You can? How?'
He shrugged. 'I know practically everything about him. His full name, the places he goes to usually, it won't be that hard to find him.'
A smile appeared on my face. 'That's great!' Finally, finally a chance of getting him. Finally a chance to get him in jail. Nick would be so happy. Nick. He was practically in some kind of jail as well. Suddenly I got an idea and randomly blurted out that I had to call someone.
My father nodded and handed me the phone.
'I need your help,' I said, 'Nick's in trouble.'
A few hours later the phone started ringing. Dad answered and handed it to me. 'It's for you,' he stated. 'He sounds kinda.... happy'
I nodded and took it. 'Hello?'
'I did it I did it I did it!' Alex yelled from the other side. I could just imagine his curls bouncing up and down while he danced happily around the room.
