Chapter 90: Side Story (2)

Jaehyun adopted a black and white bunny rabbit from the resort and brought it back with him to the team. He summoned the dp-boys along with Jungkook to brainstorm a name for the bunny together.

Yoongi: "Rabbit."

Soobin: "Wang Dachui."

Nana: "Little Blossom."

Jaehyun: "Milk Cow."

Nana huffed, "What the hell is up with Milk Cow? It's obviously a rabbit."

Jaehyun had a defense ready: "But it has black and white patches, like a milk cow."

And so the two began to quarrel over the issue; Soobin and Yoongi did not want to become cannon fodder in this battle, so they temporarily withdrew from the discussion. And then Jaehyun nudged Jungkook on the arm and asked, "Jungkook, what do you think?"

Jungkook was looking at his phone, and without even raising his head, he said, "This brother is busy chatting with his girlfriend and has no time to fool around with you all."

Nana clenched her fists. "Why do I really feel like beating you to death..."

Soobin nodded sagely in agreement.

In the end, Nana and Jaehyun reached a settlement. Considering the characteristic black and white patches of the rabbit, they named it "Panda".

After that, Jaehyun asked Nana to go get some leafy greens from the young cook at the cafeteria so they could feed Panda. Nana shot back, "Why me? Why don't you go?"

Jaehyun: "You know him better."

Nana gave him a strange look. "Why do you think I know him better?"

Jaehyun blinked, taken aback, suddenly unsure how he should answer this question. However, Nana did not wait for his reply, already leaving to go get the greens. Jaehyun stared at her back, somewhat at a loss. "Yeah, why do I feel like she is close with the young cook?"

Jungkook replied, "Because the young cook has a crush on Nana." After saying thus, he found that the other three guys were gaping at him in shock. Jungkook sighed, shaking his head. "Don't tell me you all really didn't notice?"

The three boys shook their heads dumbly.

In that instant, Jungkook felt a deep sense of superiority — 'This is why I have a girlfriend and you guys don't.'

Dazedly, Soobin commented, "Daring to have a crush on someone like big sis Nana? Wow, I really admire him!"

Nana soon returned with the young cook behind her. The young cook was carrying a shopping basket with all kinds of vegetables inside it. Even someone as insensitive as Nana noticed the odd stares of Jaehyun and the other boys. She rubbed her nose. "What?"

"Nothing." Jaehyun took the basket from the young cook and then said to him, "Thank you. You can go now."

"I came to see a panda." The young cook began feeding the rabbit. "I actually thought you guys had managed to bring back a panda. How stupid of me."

Nana giggled in amusement. The young cook turned to look at her, smiling.

Jaehyun looked at Nana and then turned to look at the young cook, his expression filled with suspicion. He saw the young cook feeding Panda non-stop and pointed at the rabbit, dominantly proclaiming his ownership. "I am its father."

The young cook: "Oh? Then who is its mother?"

Jaehyun: "The mother must of course be a woman."

Soobin lamented, "What a pity. There are no girls among us."

Nana protested, "What about me?"

"Big sis Nana, quick, hide your peepee."

Soobin's words resulted in him being chased by Nana. They were young and energetic, only stopping after running around for quite a while. Soobin had been bopped firmly on the head by Nana, and he was grimacing from the pain.

In the end, Nana took on the glorious position of Panda's mother.

The young cook left with the basket, his back looking very lonely.

Panda settled into Jaehyun's dormitory. Jaehyun's time and energy were limited so he could not take care of it properly, and so he entrusted its care to the cleaning staff. Nana often went over to Jaehyun's dorm room to visit Panda. One day, Jungkook saw the two of them sprawled out on Jaehyun's bed reading comics and discussing what they read together. Jungkook had not seen Lisa for several days; in that instant, he actually felt like he had suffered damage from the sight of these two single-dogs together.

Jaehyun often complained that Nana hits his head. A man's head and a woman's waist should not be touched casually — this was a taboo. Jaehyun believed that he was a macho man — how could he let a girl hit him on the head again and again...?

One time, he became angry and planned to teach Nana a little lesson. Okay, so you like to touch my head, right? Then I'll touch your waist. You touch my head, I touch your waist... and then, as expected, Nana stopped touching his head, instead giving him a tight slap.

Jaehyun was furious — he was determined to never talk to Nana ever again. When he returned to his dorm room, he complained long and loud to Jungkook, swearing to ignore Nana from now on.

The next day, Jaehyun was lying face-down on a mat after training to cool down when Nana passed by. She took off her shoes and stepped gently on his calves, and then she began stepping on his back, giving him a massage.

Jaehyun pretended that he did not know her, keeping silent with his face down.

Nana asked him with a laugh as she stepped on him, "Does it feel good? Hehehe."

He said nothing.

Nana then asked, "What did you eat for lunch?"

He still said nothing.

She became rather annoyed and gave him a kick. Raising her voice, she said, "I'm talking to you!"

"Roast beef!" He replied loudly, feeling rather defeated.

A few days later, a serious fight occurred within the swimming team. Nana had beaten up two male swimmers until their faces were black and blue. They would not be able to swim for a week. Perhaps due to her reputation for being fierce and her status within the swimming team, the two male swimmers actually had not retaliated.

The evidence was conclusive — Nana was the responsible party in the incident. Jaehyun was unfamiliar with the two male members involved and he did not know the details of the matter. Honestly, no one really knew what had happened. During the investigation, when the coaches asked Nana why she had hit the boys, she had refused to say anything more than: "They were irritating."

In the end, Nana was marked with a great demerit.

Nana herself was unbothered, but Jaehyun fumed, "Nana, why are you becoming more and more violent? Beating someone up just because they were irritating? I remember you weren't like this before. You should go see a therapist!"

"Get lost."

"..."

Jaehyun felt aggrieved. He wouldn't have bothered about her issues if he didn't care for her! A dog biting the hand that feeds it — so ungrateful!

Jungkook believed that there was more to the story and began asking around in secret. Speaking of, it was rather strange, but although Jungkook had always kept a low profile in the team and he wasn't someone particularly good at networking, he still had decent connections within the team. From the leaders in the management and the coaches to the various members within the various smaller teams, even if someone could not say they had a special liking for him, they at least did not dislike him. Two days later, Jungkook managed to uncover the truth. He told Jaehyun, "Sis Nana beat them up because they were speaking badly about you behind your back. Well, they were saying some very ugly things."

Jaehyun was silent for a long while, and in the end, he said, "That idiot."

He thought, 'No matter how much she hits me in future, I won't get mad anymore.'
