I woke up the next morning in my bed under the covers wearing Matheos shirt from the dance. He must have moved me and put me in some clothes. I tried to move, but my legs were so sore I could barely move. My core was so sore and was throbbing. Just then, a knock interrupted my pain and I look to see the cause.

"Morning sleepy head. I made you breakfast since you're probably hurting right now." He smirked. He was enjoying this. "Shut up," I mumbled as I look at the tray of food and my mouth watered. Eggs, bacon, waffles, and orange juice. I squealed as he took a seat next to me and placed the tray on my lap. "Isabella is sound asleep, so you can eat breakfast and heal in peace." I rolled my eyes and smiled. He stiffened, and I knew he would make good on his promise last night, so I winced as I moved a little so he would hopefully back off for today. It worked because he stretched out his arm and put it around me.

"I'm sorry," he mumbled in my ear, but I could tell he was smiling. "no you're not," I mumbled before taking a bite of my food. He kissed the side of my head. "Your right," he said before hopping off the bed to grab a brush. "Can I brush your hair?" He said and my heart almost melted. I nod and turn my head so he can get a better angle. He was gentle and the more he brushed, the more my eyelids fight to stay open. I leaned back and straight into his chest. He chuckled. "You were just sleeping. How are you tired again?" I open my eyes and try to sit up, but he has me pinned to his chest with his arms. "Brushing my hair for me is very relaxing." I say as he kisses the top of my head.

I finished my breakfast, and Matheo moves my legs to stretch across his as he pulled me close. "So what do you want to do today, love?" What I really wanted was to be able to move and not hurt, but I couldn't say that. Instead I say, "do you have plans today?" He shrugged. "I invited some of my friends over for a drink later a week ago, but that's not until later." I nuzzled my face into his neck. "Good, that means I have you and Isabella for a whole day." Suddenly my phone dinged, I turned and grabbed it, it was a text from Irene. "There is a Miss Parka here for you. Something about the Senator. She is in my office and she seems nervous. Get here fast."

"Never mind, I have to go to my office. That lady from the Gala showed up. I need to question her to expose the senator." I looked up at him and his face was unreadable. "Are you upset?" He gave me a soft smile before kissing my forehead, "nope, you have work and I need to run into teh office to check on some things before drinks tonight. I can take Isabella. She loves riding in the elevator." I kissed the tip of his nose. "Okay." I slowly climbed off and steadied myself. My knees were a little wobbly, but I could walk now. I heard Matheo snickering as I looked through my closet and found the same outfit I wore when I went and interviewed Matheo. I put it on and I could see Matheo's face change when he realized it was the same outfit.

"Why are you wearing that one?" He asked as I put my hair into a bun and I shrugged, "First one I saw," I said as I slid on some flats and grabbed my phone to shoot Irene a reply, "On my way. Can you get me a coffee?" I grabbed my purse, that was hanging up on my door. If the girl was skittish, it means she was ready to bolt, and I needed to get there and reassure her everything was okay. I turn to see Matheo grabbing the empty tray and I couldn't help but smile. I went up to him and kissed him. I surprised him at first, but he kissed me back as he wrapped his arms around me.

"Thank you for last night and this morning. You truly are amazing." He chuckled, "anytime princess." He mumbled before I gave him one more kiss and bolted out the door and to my car. I drove there as fast as I could and when I pulled up, I saw Irene at the coffee cart getting two coffees. I smiled as I shut off my car and grabbed my things. I stepped out, and she smiled like she knew I wasn't able to walk this morning. My knees were still not up to full strength, but I could act like they were. "Fun night?" She asked as she handed me my coffee. "How did you know?"
