"It's so warm," Alicia murmured fanning herself, she looked over at Embry as he sat in the shade trying to cool down; they had been in the Amazon for a couple of days now and they still hadn't found any vampires.
Alicia had been excited when she had been allocated to look for vampires in the Amazon, she had thought it would be a great adventure but now she just wanted to head home.
Embry chuckled lazing against the wall of the hotel room that they were staying in, his brown eyes watched his girlfriend knowing that everything would be okay.
Alicia was wearing a white shirt with bright cutwork embroidery and white high waisted skinny twill trousers paired with black leather flat sandals; she was trying to keep cool while not attracting too much attention to herself.
"So what did you tell your mum?" Alicia asked curiously knowing that her boyfriend would have had to tell Tiffany something to explain their trip out of the country; especially since his mother didn't know that he was a wolf.
Embry sighed as he ran a hand through his dark hair, he knew that his mother wasn't entitled to know about the pack since she wasn't Quileute like the rest of the pack's parents; it was something that he was working on with Billy.
"She thinks that I have taken you away for a romantic weekend in Seattle," Embry replied knowing that he wouldn't be able to tell his mother that they had left the country; he and Alicia were underage and if would be a while before she knew what was really going on.
Alicia nodded her head knowing that things would be easier when Tiffany knew about the pack, the woman had lived on the reservation for over seventeen years now and she still had no idea what her son did every day to protect the tribe that he was born into.

Alicia groaned softly walking through the forest, she didn't know how she had pulled the short straw when it came to finding witnesses before they went up against the Volturi.
Alicia shouldered her twist lock backpack and wiped some sweat from her forehead, she looked around seeing nothing but trees and she wished they would come across a vampire soon.
"Why couldn't we have gone to Europe?" Alicia grumbled making her boyfriend chuckle as he helped her along, when everyone had gone their separate ways; Embry had never expected he would be walking through a rainforest.
"Amelia's in Egypt, Aiden's in San Francisco, why couldn't we go somewhere easy," Alicia complained, she hadn't wanted to walk through the rain forest looking for a coven of human drinking vampires and yet here she was.
Alicia stopped hearing something behind them, Alicia looked around nervously wondering who it was that could be approaching them; she knew that there weren't a lot of humans out this far in the rainforest.
"We aren't alone," Embry murmured looking towards the direction that they could hear someone approaching them; however neither of them expected to lose their vision.
Alicia squeaked surprised as everything suddenly went dark, she didn't know what it was but she had a feeling that this was something to do with the vampire coven that they were looking for.
"Ali?" Embry called suddenly worried about what would happen now that he couldn't see, the brunette slowly moved towards his side before she was slammed to the floor by something cold and hard.
Alicia groaned trying to shake off whatever was blocking her sight, she knew that she had to react fast if she didn't want to find herself in anymore trouble.
Throwing up her force field, Alicia reinforced it both mentally and physically allowing her to gain her sight back; the brunette glared at the two vampires who seemed surprised that she had been able to do what she had.
"Embry?" Alicia called glancing over at her boyfriend, who was now under her protective shield; he nodded at her signaling that he was okay, he was less than pleased that they had been attacked.
Embry took deep breathes as he tried to calm himself, he needed to remain in control if they were to get the vampires help; he just needed to show that he wasn't too much of a threat.
"Are you from the Amazon coven?" Alicia asked eyeing the two female vampires, she knew that she had to be careful right now; one slip and the two of them could attack and kill them both.
Embry moved closer to her side, he eyed the two vampires curiously wondering how they had managed to sneak up on them like that; the leader of the two of them tilted her head and nodded at Alicia.
"We are friends of the Olympic coven, Carlisle needs your help," Alicia explained hoping that she would get them to listen to what she had to say; the brunette knew that it would take a lot of convincing for them to find people willing to stand up against the Volturi.
"I am Zafrina and this is Senna, tell us what trouble's our friend Carlisle and his coven," the leader said stepping towards the shield; she tilted her questioningly at the two, she didn't know why Carlisle hadn't come himself instead of spending two strangers.
Alicia brushed some hair from her face as she tried to calm her wildly beating heart.
"How would you feel about coming back to Forks with us?" Alicia asked making the two vampires look at one another confused; she knew that there was no way that she'd be able to explain to them what was going on.

Embry rested a hand on Alicia's knee as he stopped her from bouncing it, he glanced over at the two female vampires knowing that the sooner that they were back in Forks the better.
Alicia offered her boyfriend of eight months a small smile, she couldn't help but feel nervous especially since she was used to having Amelia with her; her sister always knew what was going on and how to deal with things.
"It'll be okay," Embry whispered dropping his head down by Alicia's, she was nervous and he didn't blame her; no one had ever seen anything like this before and they were only teenagers.
"I know... I just worry," Alicia replied kissing Embry, she took his hand knowing that there were so many things that could go wrong and she knew that the final battle was still coming; a battle that could lead to the death of her and her siblings if they weren't prepared.
Embry squeezed his girlfriend's hand, he wished that he could ease her mind but he knew that it wasn't just the Volturi that bothered her; he knew what lay ahead and it didn't scare him.
"Whatever the future holds... we can defeat it together," Embry murmured knowing that the final battle lay on her mind, Alicia had never told him much about what was coming but he knew that it had to be big.
Alicia nodded her head with a weak smile, she knew that, that was what worried her; she didn't want to lose Embry and she was sure that he would be lost if he got in the way of anything that would be happening.
"Until my dying breath," Embry promised unaware that, that was what his girlfriend feared more than anything else; the last thing that Alicia wanted was for Embry to die protecting her.
