Chapter Seventeen

Following the next week, James, Mallorie and their entire clan all flew to Houston, Texas to commence the wedding. Time wise, James and Mallorie were getting married in 3 weeks so they were mostly finish with some things, but not everything. There were a few things that needed to completed, and thankfully both families gladly made their services available. Mallorie's wedding dress came in and somehow, miraculously, she was able to maintain her weight every since she bought her dress a while ago. However, there were a few venue details that needed to be settled.

When James, Mallorie, and their entire family all arrived at Houston in the evening, they all went out to eat and then called in a early night in order to get some rest. The next day which was a Wednesday, Mallorie woke up early with her mom and grandmother to meet James along with the bridesmaid & bridegrooms at the church they were getting married at to practice their walk. Their wedding overall was going to be a small and intimate affair not because they couldn't afford anything more, but rather they both weren't up for a big and over glamorous wedding ceremony. So when they all arrived, James, Mallorie and everyone else ran over the ceremony a few times before they left the church and separated ways. Malloire and James then had separate errands to take care off, so they didn't really have any time to spend together. However, before the wedding, each party had some time to spend with their family and friends since everyone attending the wedding was in Texas.

Mallorie necessarily didn't want to have a bridal shower, she just had a mere get together at a restaurant with her friends, mom, and grandmother and she had fun but, at one point it became awkward and painfully uncomfortable when Mallorie's mom and some of her friends got her intimate underwear and other things relating to sex. At that point, Mallorie was blushing all the way down to her toenails, if it were her friends then fine, but the fact that her mom got her some things was just too uncomfortable for Mallorie to bear. Thankfully, Mallorie wasn't pressured to open the gifts in front of everybody counting the other bystanders that were at the restaurant that day. After that day, Mallorie continued to complete last minute errands until her wedding day finally came.

On the morning of her wedding, Mallorie woke up tired, she didn't get that much sleep the night before seeing that she was on the phone talking to James until 2:41 am and she had to be up by 8:00. So she was a bit tired, but today was her wedding day and she couldn't be anymore excited or nervous; her nerves were definitely running rampant, she couldn't believe she was getting married. After she finished brushing her teeth and took a shower, she ate a quick omelet that her grandmother prepared for her and then the makeup & hair stylist were awaiting her downstairs. James and Mallorie were getting married at 11:00 am and the ceremony would only take an hour in a half plus getting their photos taken, then they would head to the reception hall. After Mallorie got her makeup and hair done, she put on her dress which was an elegant one shoulder fitted dress with a semi long train and white lace veil and diamond embroidery. As soon as they were done getting dressed, they all headed to the church which was 25 minutes away from the hotel they were staying at. When they arrived at the church at 10:00, Mallorie went to a separate room prepared for her which was right next to James's room.

"Mallorie" James called softly.

Mallorie turned around and walked to face to door where she heard his voice, "Yeah."

"Give me your hand." and Mallorie looked and she saw his hand reaching out through the door which was creaked open but she didn't see the rest of his body, so she grabbed his hand and squeezed it reassuringly.

"I just want to pray with you real quick before we go out there."

"Okay, go ahead."

"Dear God, thank you for bringing us here today and ultimately bringing us together. Thank you for showing me your love through this wonderful human being you created, I pray you bless our marriage, guide our marriage, and bless us. We love you Lord, Amen."
