"Guess what? I got an A today." Amy said handing Jake her paper.
"Really?" Jake said.
"This is Tina Stevenson's test." I said.
"I didn't say it was my "A"." Amy remarked.
I laughed."she's got a point."
"Don't stand up for her." Jake defended.
"Hey, Hartley."
"Hi, Declan. I like your shirt. The color really makes your abs pop. I mean, your eyes pop!" Hartley panicked.
"Thanks. You're so cute you make any color pop."
Amy gagged.
"Sup J." Declan said grabbing his hand.
"Sup dec." Jake said.
"And Y/n." I  awkwardly smiled at Declan
Still don't trust him.

"Okay, who was that and what was that?" Amy says while making a hand motion.
"Declan. He's a new student from
Chicago. I'm kind of crushing on him." Hartley said.
"Nooo." I responded "shocked."
"Amy stop rubbing off on y/n." Jake said.
"Sorry can't help it, I'm just iconic like that." Amy said.

"Did you know about this?" Amy asked me and Jake.
"The hartley/ Declan thing?" Jake said.
"Yeah."
"We went on a mini golfing double date last week." Jake said.
"Well they golfed, I caddied." Jake added on.
I patted his back.
"Why didn't anybody tell me? I tell you everything, especially you y/n."Amy said.
"I tried but-" as I was cut off by hartley.
"You didn't tell me when you "borrowed" 20 bucks." Hartley complained.
"That's because you saw me do it, I can't have a confession if I didn't commit the crime."

"Okay, look, the reason I've been keeping Declan a secret is because I don't want you to ruin things." Hartley said.
I gasped
"I'm sorry. What did you just say." Amy said.
Oh god.
That's my cue to leave.
"Hey guys faith is calling me so I have to go bye!" I said leaving the table in the a panic.
Jake followed me behind.

"That isn't gonna end well." I said.
"For sure." Jake added.

I stood next to Amy and Hartley.
"Have you ever noticed our history teacher dresses like he's in high school."  Amy said.
"Yeah our history books and his fashion sense both stop in 1985."

Declan and Amy started laughing.
"Good one dec."
"Give me some." He said holding his hand up.
"Yeah we aren't there yet." Amy said.

"Who know you two would be hitting it off so well." Hartley said.
"Yeah we actually have a lot in common. We like making fun of people." Amy responded.
"That checks out." I said.

"You're way funnier then the kids back in Detroit." Declan said walking away.
"Wait, Detroit?" Amy questioned.
"Yeah Hartley said you were from Chicago." I added onto that.
"That's true, you did say that."

"Oh well I moved a lot as a kid."
"Okay?" I said as he walked away.

"Jake! Declan just told me he's from Detroit!" Me and Amy ran over to Jake.
"So?"
"Hartley said he's from Chicago."
"Did he have an explanation?"
"Yea but something about it just felt wrong."

"You can't just condemn someone on a gut feeling."
"I'm just worried about hartley."
"He's a good guy, he didn't even cheat in mini golf, trust me, he should of." Jake said walking away.
"That last part is true." I said.
"Time to focus on the real guy, our history teacher and his fashion crimes." Amy said.
I laughed.

Amy told me she heard him talking through his watch. Amy went through his locker and found nothing.
I can't help but feel like he is hiding something and we are all in danger.
Maybe I'm just over thinking things.

Sorry for the short chapter, I'm very busy with SATs and other tests that determine if I can graduate or not.
For next few weeks there will be very slow updates. Thanks for the patience 💕
