"This place really hasn't changed at all" Mollie smiled as soon as we walked into the house
I took a glance around the corridor to realise she was right
It's been quite some time since Mollie was here, 5 years near enough but this place hasn't changed
Sure a photo has been added or updated here and there but ultimately its the same

"No way" She smiled looking at the doorway of the living room
"We were so little" she giggled looking at the markings on the wood from where our parents would compare out heights
Everyone's was there
Mine, Mason's Mollie's and Tilly's
It's the one thing I would never want to cover up no matter what was to happen between the four of us

"You were so little Mols, I'll have you know I've always been tall" I winked making her roll her eyes as she continued to look around

Mollie had been on edge all night, there was a few blips, a few bumps in getting her back here but seeing her sat in my living room. I couldn't help but notice how calm and content she really was right now
Nothing could hurt her here and it's almost like she knew that

"So who do you have your Friday nights with now a days?" Mollie asked as I took a seat next to her shaking my head
"Well you see, I usually spend them on my own by the river but lately this doe eyed blondes been really cramping my style. I might have to look for another spot" I teased as Mollie leant over pushing my shoulder rolling her eyes
"I've heard she's quite the character" She rebutted making me chuckle
"Well she does have her nickname to live up to" I answered

"Where did that nickname even come from?" Mollie asked leaning her head against her arm looking over at mine
"I think it started with your hair. Out of the four of us, your hair was always the brightest like the sunshine" I answered
"Started with my hair? What do you mean" She giggled again

"Well that's what it was when we were kids but now it means something completely different" I smiled placing my hand on her arm rubbing it lightly

"What does it mean?" she questioned hesitantly
"It means, that with a single smile you make any atmosphere warm and happy. You have a fire in you just like the Sunshine too. You're just a warm and happy person, or at least that's the front you try to give" I said making her smile again

When I tell you this girls smile was contagious I meant it more then ever
I could die happy if the last thing I saw was her smile

"Now where did Hot shot come from?" I asked making her laugh again rolling her eyes
"It was just the first thing that popped into my head when you called me Sunshine plus from what I remember you were never the brightest stone in the pile" She said making me scoff looking at he
"I'll think you'll find my grades are better then Mason's" I rebutted earning another eye roll
"That's not an achievement. A monkey could join the school and get better grades then him" She said making me laugh

She wasn't wrong but then again I've learnt Mollie Harper was never wrong

--

"It's 2am" Mollie breathed out the moment we moved upstairs to my room. I had offered to sleep downstairs but Mollie didn't want to kick me out of my own room but I knew she wouldn't want to sleep in my parents room
"I'll take the floor" I said grabbing a spare blanket and pillow from my wardrobe
Mollie looked at me a little confused and almost like she was going to say anything but instead she nodded avoiding all eye contact before climbing into my bed

Silence soon fell onto us neither of us uttering another word
Tonight has made a lot of things evident. I needed to speak to Mason, I needed to try and figure out what was going on or at least make amends with him enough he'll let me around Mollie without having to hide it from him

Mollie thought I hadn't seen her text him to say she was staying the nights at Jessie's but I did. The last thing I want is for Mollie to get caught in a string of lied and essentially trap herself because in her end she'll end up hurt and that is the last thing I want

"Liam" I heard Mollie whisper maybe an hour later, I rolled over to see her looking over at me. I'm assuming she only whispered in case I was asleep
"You okay?" I whispered back but she didn't say anything for a minute

"C-can you lay with me?" She stuttered, there has always been an innocence in her eyes but it was never as heightened as it is right now

I smiled at her nodding before getting up off the floor
Honestly I was incredible relieved, that floor was a pain in the back figurative and physically

"Are you okay?" I asked opening my arms allowing her to scoot as close as she wanted, I didn't want to make her uncomfortable, She moved close enough that her cheek was pressed against my chest as she lay there in my arms
"Mols?" I asked making her hum in response
"I don't know what's going on but I promise, I'll do whatever I can to fix it" I whispered placing a soft kiss on the top of her head before she looked up at me

Her big brown eyes searching mine, almost checking that I wasn't about to hurt but I couldn't, hell I wouldn't

"What if you can't?" She asked
"Then I won't stop trying until I find a way" I answered grazing her cheek lightly with my hand
"Please let me help" I asked watching as she slowly closed her eyes
"I don't think you can Liam, I don't want you to get yourself into-" She started but I shook my head

"I don't care about myself right now Mollie, if someone is doing something to you I'll do whatever it takes" I answered watching as he breath hitched slightly making her open her eyes

She nodded this time, giving in for the first time in what felt like forever, she shuffled closer nuzzling her head against my chest making herself comfortable while I placed my arms tightly around you

"Good night hotshot" She said with a sleepy giggle in her tone
"Good night sunshine" I whispered kissing the top of her head again
