The school year started back up again, which meant that summer has ended.

Cassie groaned when her alarm went off, waking her up. As expected, her mother called her.

"Cassie! Come on, wake up!" Robin said.

"Okay," she called back, tiredly.

Cassie sat up and swung her legs around her bed and stood up.

She scratched her arm as she went to the bathroom and got ready.

"Are you ready for school?" Scott asked Cassie.

"I guess," she yawned.

She sat down and began eating her breakfast.

Scott had made pancakes for her that morning.

Normally, Cassie would eat cereal or eggs and bacon, but since it was her first dad of school, Scott decided to take the time to make pancakes.

Once she was done, she left the apartment with Scott, who dropped her off at the high school.

"Have fun today, okay?" Scott said.

"Okay," Cassie said.

"I love you."

"I love you too, Dad."

Cassie said goodbye to her father and got out of the car.

She walked into the school and immediately began looking for Harley and Zoey.

"Cassie!" she heard Maya's voice call her.

She turned around to see Maya walking over to her with Farkle.

"Hey," Cassie said.

"Hi," Maya said.

Farkle smiled. "Hi."

"Have you seen Harley or Zoey?" Cassie said.

"We're looking for them now," Farkle said.

"Have you seen Lucas and Gabe?" Maya asked.

"Not yet," Cassie shook her head. "What about Smackle?" she looked at Farkle.

"We haven't seen her yet either," Farkle said.

"Huh," Cassie said. "We'll find them."

Farkle and Maya nodded in agreement.

"What do you have first period?" Cassie asked them.

"I have History with Mr. Young," Maya said.

"Me too," Cassie said.

Relief washed over Cassie knowing that she had a friend in class.

They looked at Farkle.

He looked down at his phone and unlocked it.

He had his class schedule on his phone.

"I have AP Chemistry," he told them.

Cassie couldn't help but feel disappointed. She really hoped she'd have History with Farkle, but unfortunately, not.

Maya noticed Cassie's disappointment, even though she was good at hiding it. The only two people who can pick up on her disappointment were Harley and Zoey.

"Guys!" Gabriel Miller, or Gabe, said.

Gabriel Miller had known Farkle and Maya a lot longer than Cassie has known them. He had moved to New York in seventh grade and befriend them and Riley Matthews when he came to New York from Boston.

When Cassie and Harley transferred here, before they met Zoey, he befriended them too, then Zoey after she became friends with Cassie and Harley.

He's always been nice to her.
