Kai had been out hunting most of the time Otis would hunt closer to the house and Kai would go out a little further once she was basically on top of a deer but when she found it the deer had already been killed and ate on by the monster who took over the dead who would eat anything with a brain

Kai had gotten enough small game to take back that would last a while but when she got back she was not expecting the amount of vehicles and people in her yard

She stalked up quietly and grabbed onto the first person she found holding the woman she covered her mouth and put a knife to her throat "Shh id be quiet if I were you now what the hell are you doing on my farm"Kai said quietly the woman put her hands up

Andrea was caught off guard completely not know who this woman was or why she said this was her farm the way Hershel talked about Kai made everyone think she was actually a he so everyone thought that it was a strong man who could kill and hunt easily not a woman the same size as Andrea

"MOMMA ITS OKAY!"Kai heard her daughter yell and she looked up to see Isabella running up to her with more people "Kai put the knife down they are friends"Maggie says walking up and Kai moved her knife pushing the blonde woman away from her and Izzy ran up and hugged the woman

"This is Kai?"Glenn asks shocked "Got a problem?"She asked "N-no nope not at all"He tells her "Walker!"Someone yelled and she looked back to see a single walker stalking towards them "Just the one?"A man asks and the blonde woman Kai tried to kill got on the Rv

"I bet I can nail it from here"The blonde woman says "No no Andrea put the gun down"The man tells her and Kai starts walking towards the walker "You'd best let us handle this"Another man says as they grab weapons following Kai

Kai got closer and tilted her head this wasnt like the dead shes come across before it was different the guys caught up to her and the one man put his gun up "Is that Daryl?"The man asks "Thats the third time you've pointed that thing at my head you gonna pull the trigger or what?"The walker who turned out to be this man named Daryl asked

"What the hell is wrong with you people?"Kai asks her deep southern accent being heard by all five of the men "Who the hell are you?"Daryl asks but before she could answer a shot came from the top of the Rv hitting the man making him fall "NO!"One of the men yelled and Kai did what her job was she ran to the fallen man and examined his wound "I was kidding"Daryl says "Get him back to the house now"She told the men before running towards the house

"Oh my god is he dead?"The woman who shot him asked "Just a graze but listen here this is my farm so if you ever try to do something like that again your ass is gone got it?"Kai asked and the woman nodded "Kai" "Dad"She said back to the man before walking into the house past more people

After the men got Daryl in and on a bed Kai gave him a rag "Hold it to your head"She says and he does as she checked his body over more looking for other wounds which she found and cut his shirt off "What the hell woman?"He yelled "Hush"She told him and started to stitch his side up

The other two men came in and sat down next to Daryl with a map asking about some doll "I found it washed up on the creek bed right there she must have dropped it crossing there or somewhere"Daryl tells them "Cuts the grid almost in half"The man says

"Move"Kai says pushing Daryls hand down "Yeah you're welcome"Daryl tells the men and listens to Kai moving his arm down while she now moved onto his wound on his head "Hows he looking?"The man asks Kai "He will be fine seems like yall have been going though our antibiotics quickly"She says "Im Rick by the way this is Shane"The man introduced himself

"Kai"She responds "Wait your Kai I thought you were a dude"Daryl says and she shakes her head "Nope not a 'dude'"She says and he moves slightly "Stop moving damn it"She tells him and he grunts "Stop poking me"He tells her "Would you rather me let you bleed out?"She asks and he huffs as an answer

Kais father walked in "Any idea what happened to my horse?"He asks Daryl "Yeah the one who almost killed me?If its smart it left the country"Daryl tells him "We call that one Nelly as in nervous Nelly I could have told you she'd throw you if you bothered to ask"Her father told him "You lost Nelly how dare you"She says and finished his stitches and Izzy walked in "Momma aunt Maggie wants to talk to you"She says "Alright kiddo"Kai says getting up "Thank you for the help Kai"Rick says "You shouldnt be the one thanking me but you're welcome"She says giving Daryl the side eye

Kai sat down at the homemade grave "It should have been me if I would have been here I could have went"She says trying not to cry Kai stayed out at the grave for a while but she finally went back inside to see everyone gathered around the table eating "Momma come sit"Izzy says "Not right not baby"Kai tells her kissing her daughters head before grabbing a plate that was made for her noticing another plate was made for the man who got shot

Kai walked into the room and the man turned around seeing it was her and covered up "Ive already seen them no need to hide anything"She tells the man and sets down the plate of food on the side table "How are you feeling you're not hot are you?"She asks going to feel his head but he grabs her hand "Im fine"He tells her "Mhm just shut your mouth"She tells him and feels his head which was normal

Kai pulled a chair up and sat down next to the man and started to eat "Why are you in here?"He asked her "Id rather not have to talk to anyone down stairs"She tells him honestly because she didnt she got close with Otis he was like another father to her "Eat before I make you"She tells him and he sat up and grabbed the plate starting to eat

The two ate in silence and once they were done Kai grabbed his plate and placed it on hers "Get some rest you need it im in the room across from you if you need anything let me know"She tells him opening the door "Thanks"He mumbled quietly but she heard him she smirked and walked out

"Bed time kiddo"Kai says walking over to her daughter who was reading a story to the boy laying on the bed the one her father did surgery on "Okay momma"She says getting up walking up stairs "Shes a sweet kid"A woman says walking in "Yeah she is im Kai"She says and the woman smiles "Lori thats uh my son"She says looking at the boy "Well looks like Hershel took good care of him"Kai says and gives the woman a smile before walking off to bed
