Kai was able to take a shower and when she got back to her room Walker and Isabella were asleep on the floor and Daryl was laying in the bed she crawled into the bed next to him and he turned around

"They told me you were dead showed me a picture"He whispers to her "Im here and im fine"She tells him noticing his face he was upset "Daryl"She says and places a hand on his face her fingers in his hair "Im sorry"He tells her

"Hey no dont do that nothing is your fault"She tells him and he tries to look down but she doesnt let him "Its not your fault"She tells him again "It is"He tells her "Dont do that to yourself Dar"She tells him but he avoids looking into her eyes

Daryl was able to look down and noticed a ring on her other hand "What the hell is this?"He asks her "Its nothing"She says and takes it off he snatched it from her "He gave it to you"He said knowing damn well Negan gave her it "Its nothing Daryl"She tells him and goes to grab it

He didnt let her "Dont do this"She tells him and he gets up and out of the bed "Daryl please stop"She tells him and follows him out of the room closing the door behind her "Daryl"She calls for him "He told me he would let you go if I agreed"She tells him and he stops walking away from her

"Yeah well he didnt"He yells at her "Dont yell at me Daryl"She tells him "Here take your fucking ring"He yells at her again throwing it at her it fell right at her feet she looked at it then at him her pausing made him even more mad "This me you was a mistake"He tells her "Fuck you" was all she said before walking away back to her room

Daryl watched her walk away the ring still on the ground the reason he was mad was because she kept it even in the shower she had it on she wore it she didnt take it off the second she escaped but he also hated himself for what he just said to her

Kai got back to her room opening the door to see her two kids looking at her sitting on the edge of the bed the two heard everything "Sorry I didnt mean to wake you-"She tells them wiping away her tears

The two got up and hugged her "Ill beat his ass if you want"Walker tells her and she lets out a sad chuckle "Its okay kid ill do it myself"She tells him and kisses his head "Come on we can all sleep in the bed"She tells them

Kai didnt sleep that night she had Walker asleep snoring on one side of her and Isabella sleeping peacefully on her other side while she looked up at the glow in the dark stars placed everywhere and thought about it why didnt she take the stupid ring off

The next morning the group walked with each other up to Ezekiel "This is life here every day but it came at a cost"He says watching the kids practice archery then turns to the group "And I wanted more of this I wanted to expand to create more places like this men and women lost their limbs children lost their parents because I sent them into battle against the wasted when I did not need to"Ezekiel tells them

"This is different"Rick tells him "It isnt" "It is the dead dont rule us the world doesnt like this outside your walls people dont have it as good some people dont have it good at all"Rick tells him "I have to worry about my people"Ezekiel tells him

"You call yourself a damn king you sure as hell dont act like one"Daryl tells him and Kai looked over at Daryl and he finally looked at her but she looked away "All of this came at a cost it was lives arms legs"Ezekiel tells Daryl

"The peace we have with the saviors is uneasy but it is peace I have to hold onto it I have to try although the kingdom cannot grant you the aid you desire the king is sympathetic to your plight I offer our friends Daryl and Kai asylum for as long as he requires it he will be safe here the saviors do not set foot inside our walls"Ezekiel offers

"How long you think thats gonna last?"Daryl asks "Ill stay"Kai tells him and Ezekiel smiles and nods to her and Daryl scoffs walking away then everyone else does Kai offered for her kids to stay as Ezekiel told her to but Isabella wanted to get back to Maggie and Walker had promised Rick he would show him his stash

"Kai can we talk?"Rick asks her "About?"She asks "Last night I uh I heard-"Rick tells her and she cuts him off "I dont wanna talk about it Rick"She tells him "Alright fine not yet"He says and she nods he hugs her "Stay safe Kai"He tells her "You too take care of my boy"She tells him looking at Walker

"I will anything for you"He says and pats her back before walking up to Daryl then Kai fell over being hugged by Walker "I know kid ill miss you too"She says and the two get up "Stay safe mom"He tells her "You too"she says and ruffles his hair

Isabella hugged her mother "I love you"Isabella whispers "I love you too"Kai tells her daughter the two pull away and Kai grabs Isabellas face "Please keep Maggie safe"Kai tells her and Isabella smiles "You know I will"She tells her and the two say goodbye

Rick told Daryl he has to stay Daryl and Kai stood beside each other watching the others leave "Just the two of us"Daryl says "Yeah sadly"She says and goes to walk away but he grabs her arm "I love you now stop"He tells her "Yeah yeah bitch come on"She tells him and he scoffs but smiles at her
