You didn’t mind babysitting for your neighbors, even if their kids were a little weird.
"Y/N! James told me I look like a booger!" One of the twins yelled.
"I did not Eli! Stop lying to Y/N!" The two bickered back and forth until you cut them off with a yawn. They both looked at you.
"Are you getting enough sleep, Y/N?" James asked.
"Yeah! We should cuddle to sleep without James!"
"Eli. I will-" You cut them off.
"I'm fine boys, although it is almost your bedtime. C'mon." You steered them into their room.
"Will you be here when we wake up?" Eli asked.
"No. I have to go home Eli. To my family." You tried to explain.
"We could be family. You'd be the funnest older sibling ever." James murmured. You smiled.
Later you would regret not taking them more seriously on their insistence that you were family. But one cannot go back in time to save themselves from being kidnapped.
