Part 2 Remember ~Dreamnoblade~

Letting him in on the secret

"Are you gonna let Foolish in on it since, you know, he's going with us?" Toua asks, sitting cross legged on the living room floor, strategically cutting up some a pair of Techno's pants.

Techno looks up from his book, being sat on the couch with a sleeping Dream in his lap.

"It just makes sense. You're going to bring someone into a potentially life threatening situation and they don't even know it." She continues when she doesn't get an answer. "I don't particularly like the guy, but there are morals that I stand by."

"Of course." Techno says, looking back down at the book, using it as an excuse to think for a moment.

"Since when can we trust that lying son a bitch? When did Foolish lie? Well he- exactly, he never lied. But Dream doesn't like him. And therefore... We don't like him. Exactly. Ha! Take that! Foolish never did anything wrong, other than missing signals. We miss read signals all the time. Yeah but... but what? But nothing. 'But nothing' is right. So we tell Foolish about this murderer who was also a part of his somewhat brother who is now on the loose and who thinks Dream is dead and who might potentially murder everyone at the ball? Yeah. Okay!"

Techno shakes his head, coming back to reality, having somehow turned several pages of the book while the voices spoke without taking in whatever he was reading.

Toua was sewing quietly on the floor, patiently waiting for Techno to think about what he had to think about. Dream was still asleep in his lap, but had turned to be laying on his back instead of on his side. How long had he been listening to the voices for?

"I guess so." Techno says, confusion lacing his words, checking the clock on the wall. Fifteen minutes had passed since he looked back at the book.

Toua looks up for a second, nods, then goes back to sewing.

"Can we go swim?" Toua asks, the question being directed at Dream.

They were eating dinner, the four of them, and Techno had asked Toua earlier to distract Dream for a while while he informed Foolish of the current situation at hand.

"Yeah!" Dream says enthusiastically, smiling where he'd raised his mask a bit to be able to eat. "I like swimming! At least I think I do. It seems like a thing that's I enjoy." He rambles, referring to the fact that he can't really remember ever swimming on account of loosing his memory.

"Y'all can swim out back. There's a small pound a bit past the tree line." Techno says, not wanting Dream to potentially be seen by anyone by being in the main lake.

He'd planned this with Toua, the swimming idea. He'd even scouted the surrounding forest for potentially safer swimming spots.

"Ooo, that sounds fun. It'll be like- like- we're forest mermaids or something." Dream says.

"'Forest mermaids'?" Techno asks, raising an eyebrow.

"Hey- they could be real." Dream says.

"Okay..." Techno says, playfully rolling his eyes, going back to eating.

"Be careful. Don't be seen. And stay as out of the shadows as possible." Techno says, standing at the back door with Dream and Toua, ready to send them off on their swimming adventure.

"Yeah, yeah. I know." Dream says. "Let's go!"

"Hold on." Techno says, grabbing Dream's arm before he could run out of the house.

"Mmm?" Dream makes a noise of questioning.

"Please." Techno says, wanting Dream to affirm that he would be extra careful.

"We will be extra careful. Don't worry your pretty head." Dream says, leaning closer to the taller.

Techno fights a blush at the closer proximity. "Good. Now go." He says.

"Okay, but first-" Dream says, moving his mask far enough to the side to give Techno a quick peck on the lips. "Bye!" He says, smiling and pulling his mask back into place.

"Cheesy much." Techno hears Toua say as he's closing the door.

Techno takes a breath before walking back down the hall, stopping in front of Foolish's room, where the younger had retreated to after dinner clean up.

He raises his fist, and knocks lightly, feeling very uncomfortable with the upcoming conversation.

Foolish takes a second to open the door, looking warrantably confused when he does.

"Hey." Techno says awkwardly.

"Hey?" Foolish asks more than says.

"Umm... about the upcoming royal ball... there's a few things you should know. So maybe... we can sit down somewhere, or..." Techno says.

Foolish's eyebrows furrow in questioning, but he lets the other into his room nonetheless.

The two sit of complete opposite sides of the bed, neither really looking at each other.

"So, as you know, Dream isn't going to the ball and that's for safety reasons. I'm going to tell you this stuff, also for safety reasons. Can't really bring you into a dangerous situation without you knowing it's a dangerous situation; even though I have a bit of a dislike for you." Techno starts.

"So, Dream used to have this... dark side to him. It wasn't him though. It was an entity thing that had somehow attached itself to him. This thing is named 'Dark' and is part... part... he has some kind of connection to a certain species of... creature that we can't really talk about... for safety reasons.

"But Dark was attached to Dream. He was dormant for a long while until Dream's memory got brought back the first time, that sped up the 'deal' that Dream had made with him. Around this time, we were encountering this species very often and it was Toua who helped us figure out that Dark was one of them.

"So in order to get this species to leave Dream alone we had to let them take Dark and that meant that they had to kill Dream. So we let them take Dark, freeing him and killing Dream.

"But I brought Dream back with the revive book and that's why Dream's memory got removed again... anyways... now Dark is on the loose and he also has a vendetta against Dream and he thinks Dream is dead. But if Dark finds out Dream is alive, he'll most definitely kill him.

"Now, how would Dark even know, he's not here. Yes he is. He recently showed back up and, we think, he's controlling Eret from the inside and that this upcoming royal ball is going to be chaos with Dark being there, but we can't let people not show up because then Dark will know something is up.

"All of this is speculation and it's only a potential... but it's a high potential. So now you know what you're getting into." Techno finishes, staring at the wall across from him.

Foolish's mouth had been dropped open ever since Techno had mentioned the 'dangerous situation' part.
