hospital

I wake up in an unfamiliar room with light seeping through the windows, im connected to an IV.. oh great im in the hospital. 

Rafes eye light up when he notices I'm awake.

"hey beautiful."

"mmm."

"do you remember anything?"

Then everything hits me, I struggle to get up and I release I cant because my head starts pounding and im connected to an IV.

"Stella calm down, your okay." he sighs.

I notice his knuckles all bruised up.

"rafe.." 

he nods. "im sorry but I had to."

"where Julian and your dad?" I ask. 

"my dad is calling rose."

"Julian is here?" I ask.

"he took the bullet for you." rafe frowns. "hes alive, it hit his arm but. he went into emergency surgery."

"what.." 

"dont you remember being pushed to the ground..?" 

"oh my.." I squeeze his hand. 

I try to get out of bed but my head hurts.

"shhh, dont move! you have a bad concussion."

"why has this been happening to us." I cry out. "I want to see Julian!" 

"Stella he is in the operating room now.."

"fuck.." 

Ward knocks on the open door.

"I need to speak to miss Stella." ward tells rafe. 

"okay" rafe says not moving.

"alone." ward restates.

"right." rafe says getting up.

"Stella. Ever since your dad left a few days ago, hes not a reliable guardian."

I nod. "what are you suggesting." 

"I want to become you and Julians legal guardian."
