Agatha's POV:
Agatha woke up in her bed.
She smiled, stretching, enjoying the feel of Reaper, her hairless cat by her side, and the scent of one of her mother's herbal remedies in the air.
Wait.
The sheets she was lying in were uncomfortable and musty, and rather of plants , Agatha could smell dust and rot, their scents permeating her idyllic dream, clinging to her like parasites.
Agatha bolted upright, hair mussed, eyes blurred and nearly shut, as if she had just been enjoying a fulfilling night's sleep. But that wasn't right - a second ago she had been in the Schoolmaster's tower, trying to leave with Sophie! What had happened? Why had the Storian begun writing their story, when they were still in school? And who was that mysterious figure, looming over them ominously in the image?
The Schoolmaster must have done something. He must have tampered with their minds to trick them into thinking everything they had experienced had only been a dream. Well, Agatha thought. He can try, but he certainly won't succeed. Whatever plot he's concocting ends now.
So Agatha got out of bed, and dressed for the day, grim determination etched into the sallow plains of her face.

Sophie's POV:
Sophie arched her back like a cat, enjoying the silkiness of her sheets and the smell of clashing perfume, cloying for anyone else, but paradise for her accustomed palette. Her mind was foggy - memories hazy, as if somebody had tried, but not done a very good job at erasing them. She could remember the Schoolmaster's tower, and Agatha...
Oh well - if she couldn't recall it it must not have been important in the first place. Now it was time for her to get ready for another day of being an Ever! Sometimes, Sophie could not help but stop and feel ecstatic that she attended the prestigious School for Good - renowned for training world famous heroes, to fight off the villains produced by its sister school - the School for Evil. She shuddered, thinking of Agatha stuck in that damp, mouldy castle. If it was her, she didn't know what she'd do. They probably don't even have mirrors. She thought it herself with disgust, pondering how they managed get ready without such an essential whilst she herself prepared for the day ahead. I would probably have to flood the floor to see my reflection, Sage thought grimly. Sophie, however, didn't need to concern herself with the trials of Nevers - she had to get ready for her Good Deeds class.
Ten minutes later, Sophie was strolling the doors that lead to her classroom.
"Sophie," Professor Dovey berated her, looking exasperated. "This is the second time this week you have been late to class, and it's only Wednesday!"
"Sorry Professor, but I was under the assumption that being late was a good thing - after all, it is called being fashionably late after all,"
"Just sit down Sophie, we are on page 53 of the textbook,"
As Sophie sat down, she noticed that most of the class was looking at her. Everyone, in fact, except for the one person who mattered. The prince who had caught her eye on the very first day.
Tedros.
He sat there, gazing out of the window, looking at the Evil school of all places. To make things worse, due to her tardy appearance, the seat next to him had been taken, by none other than Beatrix herself. That depressing shell of a human being was currently moving her chair closer to him. How desperate. Sophie thought, embarrassed just by the sight of her. To top off Sophie's misfortune, the only seat next was right at the front, next to a foul - smelling boy, who was a disgrace to his school. Honestly, they're just letting anyone in now, she thought with a huff.

Agatha's POV:
Agatha was on a war path. She was currently meant to be in Uglification with Professor Manley, but her favourite class would just have to wait - she needed to find Sophie to confirm her suspicions - that they had been spelled to forget their time in the tower. Agatha had a strange feeling in the back of her mind every time her memories started to slip. It was akin to a sharp prodding in her skull, forcing the ideas to stay at the forefront of her mind. How strange... That didn't matter at the moment however, because Agatha needed to cross the bridge. The bridge was as would be expected - plain gray stone, arching towards the Good school. It assumed a completely regular exterior, until one peered a little closer. In the middle of the bridge, there resided a slight shine - almost mirror-like, reflecting Agatha's form back towards her. But it wasn't a mirror. This other Agatha appeared to be real.
"Hello," mirror Agatha said "What are you doing here? This bridge is prohibited for students"
"I need to get to my friend Sophie in Good school," Agatha replied.
"Friend?" Her reflection said incredulously "in Good school?"
Agatha nodded in confirmation.
"But Witches aren't friends with Princesses - that's just not how it works!"
Agatha realised that she would have to think on her feet - she needed to trick this copy of herself into believing that she belonged in the other school to get through the barrier.
"Do you know what I want to do in Good?" Agatha asked, a plan forming.
" No," her reflection responded.
"I want to go and rescue my best friend Sophie," she said
Her reflection studied her, confused. "You want to rescue her?" She said, unsure. "Is it because you actually want to kidnap her, or do something else just as nefarious?"
"No," replied Agatha. "I just want her to be happy,"
Agatha didn't add on the fact that Sophie was probably already happy, basking in the warmth of knowing that she was a princess in the School for Good. But Agatha knew Sophie - she would get bored in the end. Sophie would be thankful when they were back in Gavaldon. A part of Agatha refused to admit, however, that without Sophie, she was incomplete. Her other half, though only in the next building, felt miles away. Agatha needed to find her. She didn't care if that made her a villain, after all - that was what she had always been brought up to be.
Her reflection seemed to still be pondering her. " I think," she began "that you are..." she hesitated, and Agatha waited with bated breath - "definitely Good,".
Then she disappeared, and Agatha was left with a clear path to the opposite school. Once she did this, there would be no going back. Crossing over to the other school was forbidden - she could get expelled, or worse. But Sophie was worth it.

Agatha sprinted across the boundary, without looking back, sights set on the looming glass castle ahead.
