At the Ramshackle dorm around ten minutes before Malleus gathered the courage to walk in everything seemed normal. Yuu was sleeping soundly, Y/n was in her own room reading like usual, but Grim was wide awake. A deep hunger drove him out of bed and he sneakily left the dorm. A minute or so later Y/n began to feel...odd.

As she read the words on the page her throat began to feel scratchy and it felt like something was occupying her lungs. She coughed softly at first but it quickly turned into a wild one where she'd gasp for air when she could. Closing her book to cover her mouth a black goo shot from her mouth splattering on her hand.

She raced to the bathroom where she leaned over the sink coughing up more of the gelatinous substance. Luckily it soon stopped. She looked up at the mirror wiping her mouth of leftover goo. Most would be horrified by the strange event.

"Huh, that was weird." She shrugged.

Suddenly she could hear footsteps followed by the front door slamming shut. She poked her head out of the bathroom and saw Yuu's door wide open. "Yuu?" Looking inside no one was there.

Trying to keep a calm head she figured maybe he was outside talking to Malleus. But when she checked no one was around. All caution and logic went to the wind. Y/n ran around campus trying to find Grim and Yuu but mostly Yuu.

Eventually, she found herself in the coliseum again. She could hear Grim and see fire flaming out of his nose and mouth. When she got closer pure hit rage filled her. Yuu was on the ground unconscious, gashes and cuts covered one of his arms.

"What have you done?!" Y/n yelled.

Grim looked at her hissing as a warning.

"You stupid feline! I am going to put you six feet under!" Her reasonability was gone and her anger clouded her mind. Black markings drew on her skin as her horns and tail became longer.

Grim charged at her fly threw the air his claws out. When he was close she backhanded him out of the air and he landed on the ground with a thump skidding to a stop.

"You want some more?"

Grim whimpered and ran away.

Y/n watched him leave and took a step to go after him but stopped when she realized the reason she was mad at him. Her eyes widened as she ran to Yuu dropping to her knees. "Yuu? Are you alright?!" She shook him desperately. "Please wake up! You can't die here!"

He didn't open his eyes but did mutter something Y/n couldn't make out. It did relieve her though. She pulled out her phone and dial two people she knew always had Yuu's back. They immediately picked up.

"Yuu's been hurt."

Yuu sat on the sofa, his arm bandaged and a cup of warm liquid in his hands. Y/n had returned to normal and sat beside him holding onto his uninjured arm. Ace and Deuce were still there and the headmaster had joined the group.

"You say he snuck out to eat a black crystal near where Vil overbloted?" The bird man asked.

Yuh nodded.

"Oh, dear."

Y/n narrowed her eyes at him. "What's that supposed to mean?"

Crowley cleared his throat. "Demons are beings that are very familiar with energy. For some of them, it is the product of their very existence. But even for humans energy is a big part of life."

The others listened intently trying to figure out what he meant.

"When so much negative energy is expelled there is no way it can just vanish. It can crystallize into that black rock Grim ate." He finished.

Ace looked shocked. "Wait so those black rocks Grim and Y/n have been eating are condensed blot?"

The demon looked surprised the dumb boy could put that together. "That was the only smart thing I've heard you say."

"Shut it, Y/n."

Crowley looked at Y/n. "You have been eating them too?"

She looked away sheepishly. "They were delicious."

Yuu chuckled. "Gross."

"You are not suffering any odd symptoms?" The headmaster asked her.

"Nope."

"I see...well we cannot have Grim running around campus in this state. I will gather the dorm heads and we will search for him, Y/n if you'd accompany me." Crowley requested.

She got up from the sofa to follow him out. "Stay here and make sure to lock the door." She told the three.

Once Crowley and Y/n left the three looked at each other.

Deuce stood up. "Are we going to go look for Grim?"

Yuu smirked. "I'm glad we're on the same page."

So the search party started. The dorm heads minus Malleus and including Y/n searched the dark campus. She had planned to go solo but Riddle joined her in searching for Grim. It was quiet at first until Riddle spoke up.

"I have to tell you something."

She smiled expecting a love confession. "Lay it on me."

"You shouldn't idolize your mother."

She stopped walking making Riddle stop and face her as well. "Excuse me?"

He sighed. "You and the others helped me see that my mother was wrong. She was wrong for forcing me into such a strict lifestyle and for making me believe it was healthy."

She grit her teeth. "I don't have any clue what this has to do with me."

"Before your father's death, your mother ordered every servant and guard to leave the castle. Then she put herself in a dream-induced state after he died. You can't seriously believe that was all coincidence." He told her gently.

"...I don't want to believe it."

Riddle looked down sadly. "Your father was going to leave her."

"Shut up!" Y/n shouted. "They loved each other more than anything!"

"You and I both know that's not always enough. My mother may love me and I may love her but she makes me miserable."

Y/n looked down. "Why are you doing this to me?"

"Because no one else will tell you that."

Taking a deep breath she rubbed her eyes to rid herself of the tears. "I know."

Riddle frowned. "You know?"

"I tried to ignore it but she hated me. The only time she was ever nice was when my father was looking." Her jaw clenched.

The redhead pulled her into a hug. "You deserve all the love in the world."

She closed her eyes burying her head in his shoulder. "All I've ever wanted was a mother."

Riddle chuckled. "Is that why you're obsessed with Deuce's mom?"

"....yes."

[So anyways Y/n lore😀 but uhhh I was thinking about how when I first started this story I wanted to add a Heartslaybul Oc that would be the white rabbit mixed with roger rabbit. I was gonna give him and Y/n a Jessica and roger rabbit sorta relationship but I thought people would like him too much so I didn't. I just want to have this idea out there in the world so if any other fanfic writers wanna use it they can🤭]
