As if your hearts aren't broken enough, I'll add this:
Klaus and Ibeth knew each other for maybe a year or two total, not counting the years that they were separated because of the Fall of the Mikaelsons. They got married around Christmas in 2012, and by May of 2013, they were torn apart. Jayden was born on Christmas of 2013. They reunited almost six years later and not even a month went by before Ibeth was already dead. Ibeth and Klaus didn't even get to live a full year as a married couple, and got maybe four months out of that time where they actually did get along.
And, despite how badly she wanted to be a mom, she only got five years with her little boy and never even knew she was pregnant with her second child, the little girl she had been waiting for.
Thank you so much for sticking with this story. I wanted it to be dark, twisted, and sad, and I am satisfied with how I wrote it, even though it was depressing.
