I see her get stuck in the sheets, and panic as a light from the balcony comes on.
I drop to the gravel below and sprint over.
"Let go" I whisper to her, holding out my arms.
She tugs the sheet and falls in a bundle of silk.
Falling on my back and rolling into the bushes, I feel a sharp pain in my spine.
I grit my teeth so hard my head throbs, desperate to keep silent.
A hand touches my chest
Softer than flower petals
I look up into a pair of rich,
Orchid eyes.
