Portrayed Emotions

Is it possible that I spoke from my heart
Yet love was never there from the start?
Your soul I wanted to know,
How your heart was molded, how you made it grow.

For someone who writes poetry to rave,
I can never tell what feelings I try to convey.
So when love was conceded unknowingly,
Insofar there I was, looking at you like a part of me.

Intoxicated I was with your radiant smile,
Insofar there I was, looking at you like an undiscovered isle.
From my heart I spoke, from my heart I bled,
But love was not there, thus nowhere I tread.

For someone who writes poetry for hearts to move,
I could never get a grasp on what emotions I exude.
How do I trust then, how do I choose?
Could someone help me so I don't always lose.
