DAMIEN | POV

I opened the front door, and sat down in the nearest chair.

"Long day of work." I say to myself. I stretch my arm out and reach for the remote. My attention is caught by vibrations and a overhead roar of engines.

"What the fuck." I mumble.

I sit up and usher to the front door. I look up and see military jets flying high in the sky. My thoughts are cut short by police sirens blaring in the distance, somehow louder than my own mind.

I rush back inside and shut the door. I flick on the television. I turn the channel to eight. What I see next makes my stomach feel weak.

People eating other people. Law enforcement mindlessly gunning down civilians all over the streets. The broadcast is being reported from a helicopter from up above.

I pull my phone from my pocket and scroll through my contacts.

The phone rings a few times. I get ready to hang up.

"Oh my God!" A voice connects from the other end of the phone.

"Thank God your okay." She says.

I listen in confusion. "Faith what the hell is going on?" I ask.

I hear screams and yelling on the other end. "You need to get here now Damien, as soon as possible!" Faith shouts.

I try again. "Faith tell me what's going on!"

"Damien please hurry I'll explain everything when you get here okay?" She begs.

I sigh. "Look alright I'm on my way okay." I grab my backpack off the front door handle. "One more thing don't go up to anyone you see, just avoid contact alright?" Faith asks me.

"Ok." I reply

She hangs up the phone.

A sinking feeling hits my stomach. I jog over to my car and hop in the driver's seat. My hands quickly shove the keys in the ignition. I crank them twice before the cars bursts to life and starts up again.

Just like that I was on the road.
