DAMIEN | POV

I rise to the sound of gunshots being fired of in the vicinity. "Cut them off!" A voice calls out. Soldiers run in and out of stores.

Imani taps me on the chest trying to bring me back to the moment. "Brother?" She whimpers.

My eyes cut back to her face. "I'm okay."

I crawl to my feet. I spot Faith and Andrea hiding behind trash cans across the street. They spot me and wave me over. I take Imani in my arms and spring up into a sprint.

Bullets wizz past me as I run for cover. I dip into a sitting position behind a car.

"I'm pinned!" I call out to Faith.

I grab the pistol out of my bag and start letting off rounds in the soldiers direction. As soon as I peak out from cover the car windows are shattered from incoming bullets.

Glass flys past my face as I duck back into cover.

Spak! Spak!

More bullets come in my direction. "Hang on!" Miguel calls out to me.

The entire camp was now on top of us, this wasn't going to end well. I popped a new clip into my gun. It was the last magazine I had.

One last chance.

TERRANCE | POV

I sat my bag down on the dock. There were no boats we could use to get past the water under the bridge. "Deja wait here I'm going to find your sister." I took off down the docks below the bridge. My tired legs took me up the staircase.

"Fall back, fall back!" Were they actually winning?

Hope. I felt a slight, hope.

I cut back behind a restaurant once I was back up top.

From there I could see Faith and Andrea pinned down by overhead gunfire. It looked like they were trying to get somewhere.

The bullets were tearing Damien's cover to peices. They had much more ammo than we did. We weren't gonna gun our way out of this one like last time.

Something had to happen fast. There was still no sign of Desarie. I kept scanning the area looking for her. Praying that she was safe.

There wasn't any sign of Ray either. It looked like it was just Damien out there.

Mom was waiting for me back at the docks with Deja. I had to make it back to her.

I felt a quick, hot, piercing pain in my stomach. I grabbed my stomach region tightly as I fell to the hard concrete. I looked at the ground around me.

Red, everything was red. Blood, so much of it surrounded me. I was shot, I'd been shot in the stomach. "Damnit." I wheezed in shock.

Boots clanked against the ground as a soldier came running towards me. This was it. I was going to die?

My gaze focused on the barrel of the man's rifle. Into the darkness. I closed my eyes.

Crack!

One more shot rang off in my ears. "Was I dead?"

I opened my eyes to see the soldier dead beside me, and Damien reaching out towards me. He helped me to my feet as I clutched my wound.

My body left a trail of blood as I walked.

Damien sat me down beside Faith and Andrea.

"We got em man, just hang on." Damien spoke to me applying pressure to my wound.

It was over. We won.

DAMIEN | POV

I pressed down on Terrance's wound and waved Andrea to come help me.

Trrk!

She ripped cloth from her shirt and gave it to me, to wrap around his wound. Lucky for us the bullet had went straight through.

There was no bullet to extract. "Thank God." I say in my head.

Terrance withered around in agony as I tied the cloth tight around him.

"I've got this." Terrance repeated to himself.

The dreadful sound of walkers echoed in the distance.

Author Notes

Another action packed chapter for you all.

Hope you guys enjoyed reading this chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it. I'm at a point now where I realize I may have been moving too fast with the story telling.

So expect things to slow down for the next two or three chapters coming up after this.

We are approaching a mile stone of fifty story views in two days which is very exciting for me. The story is doing better than I thought it would so far.

I'll continue to update you guys in these notes

Till next time survivors.
