Chapter 5

VAL'S POV
"This is where I live" Jonathan acknowledged as he pointed at the door.

I turned around as Jonathan put in his keys in, and I spotted Steve's house. I didn't think much of it at the moment. "Looks cozy" I added as he pull out the key in to open the door and he handed me my notebook.

"Come in, don't worry." as Jonathan offered his hand out.

"Thanks" as I took it. We walked to the end of the hall, to what I assume was his room but we were interrupted.

"Who's this Jonathan?" an older women asked who assumed was Jonathan's mom.

"I'm Val, nice to meet you" I added as I extended my hand to her.

"I'm Joyce, Jonathan's mother"as she shook my hand.

"Mom, she's friend, and we're going to study"

"yeah totally, you'll be studying"

I chuckled slightly but Jonathan looked annoyed at his mom's comment.

"We're just going to study, I'm serious mom" he chuckled.

"Fine, fine" she added. "Nice to meet you Val"

I nodded as Jonathan took my hand to come over to his room. His room door was slightly open.

"You could sit in my bed if you want?" Jonathan offered.

"You sure?" as I entered his room.

"Yeah, totally" as he leaned against the door frame.

I nodded at him as I placed my notebook down. I was about to sit down when he asked "you want some water?"

"No, I don't want to bother you,"

"You're not bothering"

"I'm fine"

"I'll get you a water either way," and I rolled my eyes playfully.

As I sat down, I was looking around Jonathan's room. It wasn't that messy and he had photographs up in his wall. Besides Eddie, Jonathan is the only boy I've been invited to his house.  I was so amazed with the pictures up on his wall.

"are you my brother's girlfriend?" A young boy asked.

"what?" I divulged almost choking on my breath

"It's because he never invites any one to the house"

"I'm his friend," I said chuckling

"want to play DND with me?"

His joy for that game reminded of Eddie, and it made me miss him more. If Eddie met this boy, they would get along perfectly.

"After we're done studying, I promise I will,"

"I'm will, Jonathan's brother"

"Nice to meet you will, I'm Val"

"You guys will end up dating, I know it"

I was about to reply when Jonathan interrupted our little conversation. "How about we leave Val alone?"

"your girlfriend is playing with DND with me after you guys finish studying"

I saw Jonathan's eyes widen when Will said girlfriend.

"My what?"

"girlfriend"

Jonathan looked at me, nervously, and I mouthed "it's fine"

"Why don't you do leave us will?"

"Whatever" will responded as he stuck his tongue out.

I chuckled and Jonathan close the door. "Here's the water" as he handed it to me.
