Surrogate Mother?

Chapter 16

Tears rolled down her face as she remembered what had happened at the doctors appointment today. It was supposed to be a special day but it turned into one of the worst days of her life.

Like usual they had gone to the doctor for another monthly check up. Y/N couldn't help but to feel a little excited as she would find out the baby's gender. Even though she was not going to be part of the baby's life she still wanted it to be healthy no matter what gender it was.

"Ah lets get to it then..." The doctor said as he began to scan her stomach.

Y/N looked away from the monitor for a few seconds to look at both Jin and Soomin's expressions and like she expected they looked excited as well.

"Seem like you are having a..." The doctor paused a bit and she immediately diverted her attention back to the monitor.

"Girl!" The doctor exclaimed happily with a smile making two out of the other three people smile.

Jin soon grabbed Y/N's hand and squeezed it slightly to show how genuinely happy he was with the news.

But the smiles did not last long as an annoyed voice broke the brief silence.

"Are you sure?" Soomin asked not sounding very happy about the news.

Jin, Y/N and the doctor turned to look at her and saw the dark look that had now corrupted her features.

"I am one hundred percent sure." The doctor answered making the dark look on her face worsen.

"Soomin, what wrong? Are you not happy about the news?" Jin asked as he letting go of Y/N's hand and turned to her.

"Of course not! How could I be happy about such news when I wanted a boy! I knew we shouldn't have gotten her to do this!" Soomin exclaimed before marching out of the room angry before anyone could say anything.

The other three were left in shock as she slammed the door right behind her. Y/N's eyes began to fill with tears as all kinds of thoughts began to fill her head.

Was this really a good idea?

It had been a few hours since they had arrived back home and Y/N had locked herself in her room. The house was dead silent as even Jin was immersed in his own thoughts.

Y/N thought about the whole situation and couldn't help but to feel that all of this was wrong. She felt like giving Soomin the baby would only lead to tragedy now that she knew that Soomin did not want a girl.

She had tried to talk yo Jin about it when they left the hospital but he shrugged her off telling her that Soomin would come around to the idea eventually.

In the end Y/N just gave up on the conversation because she knew that it was leading nowhere.

A few weeks passed since the reveal of the baby's gender and to say the atmosphere of the house had become unpleasee would be an understatement.

Soomin's bad treatment toward Y/N when Jin was not around increase more to the point where Y/N would not even leave her room when Soomin was home.

Her words made Y/N feel very insecure and everytime Y/N would try to talk to Jin about it it was either Soomin intervened or Jin just shrugged it off. She knew he was very tired from work but he could at least try to hear her concerns.

Living in this house made her feel so alone and uncared for.
