After the fun the two had at the Ugly Duckling, Freya and Sapnap found themselves walking through another path that led farther away from her former home.

After that experience at the duckling, Freya and Sapnap seemed to start warming up to each other to the point where their conversation at the moment was going.

"You mean to tell me you have two dads?" she asked curiously. Sapnap hummed and nodded as he threw his arms over his head. "Yep! It was quite the childhood."

"Bet it was fun." She said and he chuckled. "Yeah, it was..." Freya turned to him slightly, "What happened?" she asked. He sighed, "I met Dream and George." He started, "Don't get me wrong, we're best friends but I started to hang out more with them than my dads and we drifted apart." He said sadly.

Freya frowned, "Well, now you can go and see them." She suggested. Sapnap turned to her, "What do you mean?" he asked. She chuckled, "We did run away. So, you can go and visit them again." She said with a big smile.

Sapnap knew he couldn't but from the way she was smiling and how she said it, she made it seem possible. So, despite the worry in his head, "Maybe." He said with a smile.

She chuckled and nodded happily, "Will I get to meet them then?" she asked. He looked at her funny, "Why?" She raised an eyebrow at him, "We are friends, aren't we?"

They shared a laugh and continued their travel, still chatting about the most random of things. That was until Sapnap asked, "What have you been dreaming for so long but couldn't do?"

Freya stopped walking to think. Sapnap turned to her, patiently waiting for her answer. In the short while of knowing her, he realized how much he thought of her answers. Maybe it was the way she had grown up or maybe it was something she got from her parents. But nonetheless, he enjoyed seeing her think. It was one of the most real and genuine things about her.

"See the lanterns." She said. He tilted his head, confused, "Lanterns?" he asked. Freya chuckled and motioned for them to continue walking, "When I was little, my mum and dad would tell me about how the stars would be covered by clouds and I love the stars so that scared me.

"Then my mum said there's a place where they would light up lanterns and they would act as the stars for the kids that adored them. It kept them safe, whether metaphorically or realistically, but ever since then, I have dreamt of seeing it happen." She shared.

Sapnap stopped walking for a bit, he didn't know what it was but maybe it was fate. Freya realized he stopped and turned, "Sapnap?" she asked.

He let out a happy sigh, "Did you know, in my hometown, where my dads live, they have this festival of lanterns. They would light them up at night when the stars are invisible..." he trailed.

Freya's eyes brightened in shock, "Wait..." "Do you want to see it?" he asked. She gulped, tears forming in her eyes, "Only if you go and visit your dads." She said.

"What- Freya I don't need-" "I won't see the lanterns if you won't see them. Think of it as a two-way deal." She said with a hopeful smile.

Sapnap didn't know it at the time but, he was definitely wrapped around her finger. Which was why he nodded and led her to where his hometown is.

They didn't know, maybe it was coincidence or fate. All they know is, ever since their paths crossed, it seemed as though happiness and freedom followed them. Something they both longed for secretly, and now they were experiencing it.
