Brietta's POV

"You are my daughter."

WTF?!

"Excuse me? How is that possible?" I question

"Well you see your mother and I had a night of passion..." Alessandro starts to explain

I cut him off with a glare, and Alessandro let's out a deep laugh.

"I apologize but I couldn't waste that opportunity."
Alessandro states

"Ha ha  good one." I say sarcastically then add "Now that's it's out of your system. Can you go into more detail so I can understand what the hell is going on?!"

"Of course. Calm down fiore, I'll explain."
Alessandro says calmly but clearly still amused

"I met your mother through her brother Nicolas. Nicolas and I use to do business together, I'd call us old friends but that would be a lie. Our two families never really got along, but circumstances forced Nicolas and I to work together. During that time I met your mother, and began pursuing her. She was a beautiful and unique woman, with a temper that could cover all of France." Alessandro explains

"What business was her family in?" I question

"Her maiden name was De Clermont, and the De Clermont's are the founding family of the French Mafia. They have old money to last a century, but they are still in business." Alessandro tells me

"So let me get this straight by blood I technically have stakes in both the French Mafia, and the Italian Mafia?" I ask trying to make it all make sense

Alessandro nods and I let the information settle for a couple of minutes before clearing the silence.

"Why'd she leave?" I ask knowing it was a more difficult question for him to answer although he seemed to expect it.

"We were happy our first few months together, despite but our families dismay.. but when she had Salvatore things started to change. We fought everyday, and she'd scream to the top of her lungs how she felt trapped, and how she never wanted kids." Alessandro explains then pausing taking deep breath before continuing "I tried fixing it by bringing her here with me one year, for the gala. Things were starting to look up after that. It seemed like a switch had been flipped, and she was calmer, happier even. Until she was just gone."

"She never contacted you, or even tried to take Salvatore?" I questioned

"No. The last time I talked to her was the night before she left. The last words she said was that she was finally getting her happily ever after." Alessandro says grimly

"In hell." I mumble under my breath luckily Alessandro didn't notice

"If I may ask. How was she?" Alessandro questions

"She lived the life she choose happily until the very end." I say with a bitter tone

Alessandro caught that and raised an eyebrow and asked "Care to further explain?"

"No." I answer

"Very well. That is your right." Alessandro says
