Brietta's POV

After the tour we walked into the kitchen to see Thalia running around gracefully trying to prepare everything.

"How was the tour?" Thalia asks me with a smile

"Enlightening. All of you have a lovely home, the decor placement across the mansion is perfect."
I tell her with my own smile

"Thank you Brietta." Thalia says almost shyly

"Can I help with anything?" I ask her

"Normally I'd say no being it's your first time here but if you could help me set the table real quick then everything will be ready." Thalia says

I give her a smile while picking up the stack of plates she had set out while saying "Lead the way."

We're now all sat down at the table about to eat our meal that Thalia prepared. It's Chicken Parm with a ceaser salad, and pasta. I learned that saying grace or the blessing as some call it is important to Thalia, and the rest do it for her. I find that kind of endearing.

I see Thalia eat some of her food but no one else starts. So I just wait for them with a confused look on my face.

"In our family the women eat first." Paolo explains

I nod and take a bite.

"How do you like it?" Thalia asks almost nervously

"It's great. I haven't had a homemade meal in years."
I tell her

She sends me a smile, but I see sadness in her eyes appear. The men start to eat finally.

"Why haven't you had a homemade meal?"
Paolo questions and everyone at the table seems interested

"My mother was an awful cook, and Mike never cared too. Even when my mother did cook, it wasn't for me. So the only homemade meals I've had have been from a woman I met when I was a teenager. However recently I've been so busy that I've only had time for take out." I tell them

Alessandro sits his utensils down and looks at me dead in the eye and questions "What do you mean the food wasn't for you?"

"Exactly what it sounds like."
I say as I take a sip of Pinot Noir

"It was nice of the other lady to cook for you."
Thalia says trying to brighten my mood

"Yes, she even hired me at her cafe and taught me what I know when it comes to cooking, female problems, and such." I say with a slight smile remembering all the memories Agatha and I have shared

"Are you two still close?" Thalia questions

"Yes. She owns a cafe and shop just across the street from my apartment. I go there every morning, as part of my routine." I tell her

Thalia smiles and says "I'm glad you have here."

I nod and give her a smile back
