You stared at your phone, half displeased and half relieved at the text messages you read. You had been staring at it for five minutes, leaning against the wall of a house that wasn't yours.

You thought your silent friend would accompany you on your next 'side' mission since you were kind of a team but apparently, that wasn't going to happen because he ditched you for the police. Sounds weird, but he texted you that the police had given him an important mission regarding a wanted criminal and really couldn't miss out on that, it was too important.

The audacity to leave you for the police of all people. The betrayal is real.

Lucky for you, there were people that still cared about your feelings dramatic much in this world, and, for one reason or another, when you texted them asking for help they agreed and were on their way to reach you.

Pushing yourself off the dark green wall, you get in front of the house's door and knock. Might as well get a bit ahead while you wait for your companions.

It doesn't take long for someone to open the door, that someone being Kyle in his hero getup, looking relieved at your arrival.

"Thanks for coming!" He looked around, a small frown on his face "The New Kid's not with you?"

"Nope." You replied. "Had some business with the local police or something. Someone's going to come to help with this in a bit though."

He nodded and seemed pleased to know it wasn't going to be just you, although it was clear he was pretty annoyed due to his cousin, which you just knew was standing in his backyard, wearing a not-so-well-made copy of his hero costume.

"Alright." He turned around and motioned for you to follow him inside, which you did after closing his front door. "It's over here."

You two made it through his living room and entered his kitchen, where his mother was, typing on her phone while sitting at the table there.

"In the backyard."

You opened the glass sliding door and took a step into his backyard where, in all his glory, stood his cousin Kyle on top of the slides.

"I'm baaaaaack!" The poor kid had done nothing against you and you felt a bit bad about all the hate he got ever since his first time in the town but damn, the way he said that was a bit annoying.

The real Human Kite entered the backyard as well. He decided to lean against his house walls, just like you had done before, his arms folded.

With the most annoyed and unimpressed of looks he asked you, clearly done with his cousin, "Will you deal with him, please?"

"You mean you want me to beat him up?" You went for your bo and took it out, getting it to its full length.

"Basically, yes." Even his voice sounded annoyed. He must truly not enjoy his cousin's company.

"Look, Cousin Kyle, it's a pretty lady! What is she doing here?" The shorter boy exclaimed from his place on the slides, pointing at you.

"...Oh come on, now I feel bad about having to do this." You sighed, which your peer seemed to find amusing.

"Well, she's not here to make friends, she's here to kick your ass if you don't go back to your universe!" The redhead next to you raised his voice, which made you ask yourself how the hell didn't his mother hear that, but whatever.

"What?!" The shorter boy gasped, "Is she friends with the mean kid who beat me up before?"

"Yeah, she is." The taller one replied, then with a level of sarcasm that would make you laugh had you not been trying to maintain your seriousness, he continues, "Oh no, somebody stop her, she's so awful, this is terrible."
