The owl had come with an invitation to a Slughorn supper. Now, Harry, Hermione and myself were sat having desert with a bunch of other students and our Professor."So, tell me Cormac, do you see anything of your Uncle Tiberius these days?" Professor Slughorn wondered
"Yes, sir. In fact I'm meant to go hunting with him and the Minister for Magic over the Holidays." Cormac bragged with a smirk. I rolled my eyes and carried on eating.
"Well, be sure to give them my best. What about your Uncle, Belbey? For those who don't know, Marcus' uncle invented the Wolvesbane potion. Is he working on anything new?" Slughorn questioned the boy literally stuffing his face like he hadn't been fed in weeks.
"Don't know. Him an Dad don't get on. Probably because me Dad says potions are rubbish. Says the only potion worth having is a stiff one at the end of the day." I hid a snort of amusement in my hand.
"What about you Miss Granger? What does your family do in the muggle world?"
"My parents are dentists." She answered "They tend to people's teeth."
"Fascinating. And is that considered a dangerous profession?" Slughorn questioned
"Not really. Although, one boy, Robbie Fenwick did bite my father once. He needed ten stitches." everyone just stared at her. The door opened and in came Ginny
"Ah Miss Weasley. Come in, come in." she closed the door behind herself and I could tell that she had been crying.
"Look at her eyes. They've been fighting again." Hermione commented
"How had Ron not punched him, it's happening more frequent these days." I state as Ginny came and sat down
"Sorry. I'm not usually late." she sat down
"No matter. You're just in time for dessert, that is, if Belby's left you any" Slughorn thought himself funny "Anyway Miss Black, I was reading about your family the other day bad business with your father. You gave evidence against him." I do a double take as I think most of the room did, you could hear a pin drop
"Sir, I don't think." Harry began but I rested my hand on his.
"It's fine." I tell him "The hardest thing for a child to do is go against their parent. I, However do not have any regrets. Sometimes doing the right thing now matter how much you wish to avoid it is the best all around. May I be excused?"
"Of course. Of course." I wiped my mouth and left the dinner party

The next day it was our first Quidditch match. I arrived at breakfast dressed in my uniform and sat down with Hermione and Harry.
"Are you okay? You were asleep when I came back?" Hermione questioned me concerned.
"Fine, just tired was all, needed some sleep for today." I served myself some breakfast and something to drink then began eating.
"Slughorn shouldn't have brought up your Dad." Harry shook his head
"Both of you I'm fine. I knew that people would have opinions on the subject, even ask about it. Avoid the subject doesn't help as we've learned, now can I get ready for the first match or what?" they quieted down after that. Ron eventually came in to taunts and cheers. He sat down next to me.
"So how was it, then?" Ron wondered
"How was what?" Hermione questioned
"Your dinner party?" he sassed back
"It was quite boring actually." she answered "Slughorns having a Christmas Do, you know and we're mean to bring someone."
"I expect you'll be bringing McLaggen. He's in the Slug Club isn't he?" I shook my head at Ron's attitude.
"Actually, I was going to ask you." Hermione replied
"Really?" he didn't seem convinced but I believe that Hermione was warming to the idea that she had feeling for Ron. I also believe that soon we would both be couples as well as friends.
"Good Luck today, Ron." Lavender said from behind me and I turned around "I know you'll be brilliant." she walked away. There was something odd about her, more odd that Luna.
"I'm resigning. After today's match McLaggen can have my spot." he stressed. Speak of Luna she sat down next to me with a big lion on her head.
"Have it your way, juice." Harry handed over a cup
"Sure."
"Hello, everyone." she greeted "You look dreadful, Ron. Is that why you put something in his cup? Is it a tonic?" we all look back to Harry who was slipping the liquid luck vial back into his pocket.
"You didn't" I breath laughing slightly
"Don't drink it Ron." Hermione told him but Ron ignored her and did it anyway. "You could be expelled for that."
"I don't know what you're talking about." Harry quickly responded
"Come on Harry, Vega. We've got a game to win." we fist bumped one another then left with the rest of the team.
Ron was great as the keeper, thanks to the liquid luck he blocked like a pro and passed it over to us chasers. He was literally on top of the world on the pitch and when we won the game. The celebrations continued in the Gryffindor common room where Ron was the star of the show.
"You know you shouldn't have done that." Hermione told him
"I know. I suppose I could've just used a confundus charm." he replied and it clicked
"Hermione Granger you rebel. You made dope for brains miss the goals." I wrapped my arm around her "I'm very proud and please for you."
"That was different. That was tryouts. This was an actual game." Harry pulled out the full vial "You didn't put it in. Ron only thought you did."
"You sneaky little begger. How is it you're all off causing mischief without me. I feel left out." I pout and he pulls me over making me wrap my arms around him.
"Forgive me, I promise next time I plan to cause trouble I'll bring you along." he gave me a quick peck.
"You swear?"
"That I'm up to no good." The cheering got louder and I looked back. Lavender and Ron were kissing. I broke off from Harry looking at Hermione, who looked heartbroken. She left and I shared a look with Harry before quickly following.
