The dark shadow in the corner of the room turned to look at you the moment you spoke.

Nothing needed to be said as the two of you locked eyes. You couldn't help but get a familiar feeling. Deep down, you were sure of who was concealed within that inky shape; something in his sad irises told you that it was undoubtedly him, regardless of his new appearance.

The lost one couldn't seem to find the words to speak, and his body shook as he slowly stood up and faced you, his back slightly hunched forward with an uncertain doubt.

"N...No..." He muttered to himself, drawing back and turning his head again. "I'm dreaming again."

His current state broke your heart. All this time, he'd been suffering here with everyone else. Your eyes began to water as you attempted to approach him, and you did nothing to stop the flooding of emotion building up and revealing itself in the form of tears. There was simply no forming of words; nothing processed in your brain other than the sight before you.

You slowly made your way up to him, and his head held low as you stopped directly in front of him. Peering up into his gaze, you saw a hazy film of delusion covering his perspective. Something inside of him constantly brought him into denial, and told him over and over that any sign of hope was just a fantasy. It wasn't real...You weren't really standing there...

Somehow you had to make him realize, and considering that you were physically there, it wouldn't take much.

At this point, the tears were flowing nonstop, and you tried your best to keep them at bay. Standing under him, you took ahold of his hand, which was blatantly swung at his side. You held onto it tightly, and forced a sad and majorly relieved smile into your face.

"Dad...You're not dreaming...I promise you..."

As though he'd been woken from a dream, he blinked as he realized that he could feel your hand gripping onto his own, and that you were actually there in front of him. He felt a sudden shock and disbelief come over him, and he widened his eyes and looked down at your intertwined hands as though he was making sure it wasn't all in his head.

"(Y...(Y/n)!!"

You felt the force of his body as he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you to him. There was no objection however, and with a tear rolling down your cheek you accepted the gesture and broke down with your head on his shoulder. The lost one sobbed heavily, his arms trembling and his ragged breaths becoming labored. You had no clue just how long he'd been pleading for some aspect of his old life to wander into the new one he had to endure. It was a sign of some undying hope that still lingered within him, and it had been rewarded with someone that he valued to great lengths.

"I-I can't believe y-you're really here!" He cried, resting his head atop your own and blinking away the black tears that fell from his eyes.

The comment hadn't meant to cause distress, but the man couldn't help but think about the circumstance as he embraced you. Now that he focused on it, why were you here? This studio wasn't anything to appreciate, and the dangers down here were unimaginable. It was a miracle that you had survived, let alone travel down this far and find him here.

The lost one pulled away and took your face into his hands, turning your head from side to side and looking you over worriedly. You sniffled and let out a small laugh at his actions, happy to finally see him again after so long.

"You've certainly gotten older since I last saw you." Your father added, a warm smile spreading across his face as he took ahold of your chin. "A beautiful woman you've grown to be, (Y/n). One that I will forever remain proud of."

You smiled up at him, taking his words and allowing them to fill the void in your heart that had formed the day he disappeared. The heartache from losing him lessened, yet his fate caused some tiny bit of it to linger, waiting for someone to tell you that this was all a nightmare before deciding to leave you in peace.

He released your face, and his joyous revelation turned into something more concerned. He took both of your hands into his own and held them tightly. "Why are you here? This place is much too dangerous for you to stay."

There were hushed whispers and murmurs coming from outside the room the two of you were in, and you turned your head to glance at the door before looking back at your dad. You had briefly forgotten the others that were waiting for some form of context beyond the doorway.

You returned your attention to the lost one standing in front of you, pulling one hand away from him and leading him to the door.

"It's a long story, but don't worry, I can explain everything."

You did just that, and you lead the lost one out of the room as he hesitantly followed. Dale had politely shooed most of the other lost ones and searchers back into their homes, and they obliged without protest. You gave the child a friendly glance as he waved at you upon noticing your return, disappearing into one of the houses shortly after. Without a word the both of you made it down to the others.

Sammy, Allison, and Tom stood in surprise at the realization that you were related to this specific lost one, although Tom appeared to look unfazed as usual. He couldn't really express much emotion.

Your father recognized Sammy after hearing his voice and his name. I suppose it's pretty easy to remember someone you worked in the same department with. Allison and Tom were a different story, and their appearances had changed more drastically than that of the musician. All together, he didn't seem to have an issue with any of them.

It was only after the introductions of those few friends of yours, that the real explanation begun. You started out slow, but described everything that had happened upon your arrival at the studio. You told him from the very beginning, going as far back as the search for the missing items, and discovery of the ink machine.

Then came the bad part...The ink demon...

You noticed your father grow terrified at the mention of that destructive entity. Any time his name left your mouth, he flinched, and had to repeatedly remind himself internally that he was safe here.

Now the mention of the ink demon's deal, and all that had occurred afterwards was what set him off. Even Sammy grew perplexed as he heard the entirety of the story. He finally understood that Bendy very well may have loved you a lot earlier than he had thought. Never had this much about your relationship been revealed to him.

You told them about the time you'd spent with Bendy in the lounge, and how meeting Sammy had occurred and what that event had caused. The entire journey, up to the creature in the river, and the discovery of the village was explained.

"T-That's absurd!" Your father hissed. "That monster has no compassion! No remorse!"

"You don't know that! People can change!" You objected, turning to him. "I thought the same way before, but after giving him a chance I realized what he really is."

The lost one was silent at that, but not because you had any kind of point. The part of your explanation with the torn up book began to make sense to him as he pieced it all together. If it was his book that had been destroyed, it made sense, but he hadn't been aware of the documents before hand.

He scoffed with disgust. "I'd think that if he really cared about you, he would have told you."

You frowned, confused at this. "Told me what?" You knew that Bendy had acted a little odd at times, but he wasn't keeping anything major from you, was he?

Your dad practically growled the words, some small tone in his voice sounding petrified compared to the hatred in the rest of it. He couldn't believe what that demon had become after all of these years, and now he loathed the ink demon with all of his soul. Nothing that creature did could repent for taking his life.

"That monster is the reason that I'm even stuck here! He killed me, (Y/n)!"
