this is going to be a fun trip...

Getting off the plane, the walk to baggage claim, and the walk to the car has been filled with nothing but silence. All of us as in: Onyx, Roman, Oliver, João, and I. After the whole João and I sharing a bed thing, we have all just been giving each other weird looks. Roman gives the occasional "guys give me attention" sight here and there. All of us just ignore him and go back to being dead silent.

Right now I'm sitting next to Onyx in the back of the SUV. Oliver is in the front seat, Roman and João are in the middle row. Roman keeps hitting João just to annoy him, it works every time. "Roman, I swear..." João takes a deep breath, turning his attention to the window.

As them two bicker back and forth, I look over at Onyx. He looks a bit upset and I'm not sure why, so I decide to start a conversation with him. "Onyx, you have a kid right?"

He looks up from his phone, his gaze softening as he looks at me. "Yeah, his name's Mace."

"How old is he?"

"Two," Onyx smiles while talking about him. "He turns three next month."

"Oh wow, so you were young when you had him, huh?"

"Yeah. His mom left us when Mace was about...nine months? Yeah, nine months." He nods his head with a visible frown. "It's been rough, I want him to have a female figure in his life but at the same time I don't want to bring people in just for them to leave."

"Has he been around anyone that you've taken interest in?"

He goes quiet for a second, contemplating on if he wants to answer or not. "Yeah, quite a lot actually. Mace and her get along really well." He goes quiet again before continuing, "it's Dahlia. I know you wanted to ask me that next."

"Dahlia? My Dahlia? You fancy Dahlia jade?" I say with a bright smile on my face imagining the two taking care of mace. That's actually so adorable. "I knew you two sleeping in a room together was suspicious."

"I could say the same about you and João but I won't go there right now."

Boi.

"What'd you say?" João questions, looking back at the two of us, holding Roman's hands down from hitting him. "I heard you say my name."

"No you didn't." Onyx tells him with a straight face.

"Okay..." João slowly turns his attention back to Roman, leaving onyx and I alone again.

"Back to Dahlia. Do you both have feelings for each other? Are you two dating and I just don't know?" I ask, placing my face in my hands.

"First off, yes we both like each other. Secondly, we aren't dating. I was thinking of asking her at the first game. Do you think that's a good idea?"

"Before or after the game?"

"Mmm...i don't know. What ever feels right?" He second guesses himself, scratching the back of his neck. "I just know I want to ask her. But what if she says no because she doesn't wasn't to be involved with Mace? Oh shit. Wait, maybe this isn't a good idea. Do you think it's too much for her?"

"Woah, woah, woah. It definitely isn't too much for her. If she didn't want to be involved with Mace she would never hang around him. Dahlia is a smart girl. If she is spending time with your child-she wants to be a part of your child's life." I say with reassuring smile, resting my hand on his shoulder. "And if what you say is true about her liking you as well, she will most definitely say yes. Don't stress, Onyx."
