"Why did you walk away when I was talking to you? That's pretty rude don't you think?."
I cross my arms over my chest, in disbelief of this guy. "Don't you think it's pretty rude to say 'I know' when someone says 'it's nice to meet you?'"
"Not reall...
João and Val haven't seen each other since the interviews. He wasn't on the same bus as her and by time he got back to the hotel it was already 10:00. João was gonna go to her room but Roman told him that Val was exhausted, so he left her. He was upset a little because he wanted to go out with her but he was also tired himself.
Right now it 3:45am and João can't sleep. He gets out of his bed and looks around his room for a bottle of water. He opens the mini fridge and it's empty. "I'm literally gonna die of thirst." João says to himself, rubbing his eyes out of exhaustion.
João sighs before grabbing his wallet, slipping on a sweatshirt, pajama pants, and slippers. He grabs his keycard and reluctantly walks out the room. He gets in an elevator and makes his way down to the lobby, hoping the little market is still open. João walks out the elevator and is filled with joy when he sees that it is open. He grabs a bottle of water and chips, then brings it over the check out.
"J?" A familiar voice questions quietly from behind him.
He turns around and a smile is brought to his face. "V? Why are you awake?"
"I'm about to die of thirst." She sighs, grabbing a bottle of water as well. "Seems like you're up for the same reason."
"Mhm" he hums before taking her water and scanning it with his stuff. "I missed you."
Her stomach turns into butterflies. "You missed me?" She repeats whilst attempting to grab her water back so she can pay for it but he slaps her hand away. "Excuse you," she rolls her eyes playfully. "I missed you too..."
His stomach flips, "I was gonna let you sleep in my room but Roman told me you were exhausted so I assumed you were already asleep." He pulls out his card and finishes paying for everything.
"You should've knocked, I'd probably sleep better." Val says, "Does the offer still stand?"
João pauses and clears his throat. "Yes it does."
"Sounds like I'll be sleeping with you tonight then."
João smirks, getting closer to her. "Music to my ears." He crosses his arms over his chest, towering over her.
"I bet it is." She leans in more, "buttt. Before we go back up, do you wanna go outside. They have a seating area over there." Val points over to the arch way that leads to outside.
"Why not," he shrugs, following after her. As long as he's with her, he'll do anything.
They get outside and take a seat. João takes out his chips and opens them, along with Valentina's water. "Thank you sir."
"Of course." He smiles, taking a sip of water. "How'd you think I played today?" He questions.
"According to the press you played very well and quite frankly, I agree with them. I think you played great. Your celebrations were my favorite." She steals a chip from him, her head tilted to the side.
"Mmm, really? I figured you'd like my celebrations. I mean, after all, they were dedicated to you." He acts like it's no big deal.
"Mmm, definitely not." Val laughs, drinking her water.
"The press also said that you could have something to do with how well I played," joão adds on, shrugging as he does so.
"I do recall them saying that. Would you say they're right?"
"Hm...I suppose." He shrugs again, taking a chip from the bag, attempting to not smile but he loses. He playfully puts her hood on her head, and drags it down to the point where she can't see. He finds this very amusing but she slaps his hand away. João moves his chair closer to her, "how do you feel about that?"
"Pretty good." She fake yawns, "I'll take all the credit, thank you very much."
"Oh really?" He leans in a bit, their faces getting closer.
"Yes, really." She leans in, their eyes locked on each other. Val and him stay silent for a moment, just admiring each other. "J?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you actually like me or are you just messing with me? I know you might want to roll your eyes. I just want to make sure. Like you know I got anxiety and all that so I just want-"
João stops her rant by lifting her chin and kissing her. He pulls back and watches her checks turn red. "I'm not messing with you, V."
"Good, good, good...I think I would believe you more if you, you know...gave me another kiss." She shrugs, not looking him in the eye, the same smile on her face.
"Fine." He sighs like it's a problem but really he loves it. They kiss again, but this time it's a bit longer. João stops, "did you hear that?"
"No...?"
He looks behind them and finds at least, ten different paparazzi hiding behind a van. "No fucking way." Joao says under his breath, flipping them off. "V, there's paparazzi over there. They most likely caught us kissing but they might not know it's you since your hood is on. Just try not to stress right now." He places his hand on her knee without thinking twice.
"J," Val tilts her head to the side and places her hand on top of his. "You know they know it's me. Oliver literally posted a photo of us sleeping earlier today. Let's not forget that we were literally interviewed about each other." She laughs a little, taking in that this is now her life.
"True."
"Let's just go upstairs before they release the photos and people start showing up."
"No one is gonna show up. It's almost four in the morning."
"And you're João Félix."
"Okay, yeah, you're right. Let's go."
