João
It's been two days since the whole thing between Val and I happened. We haven't said anything about it, we just give each other looks here and there. Roman keeps blowing us kisses whenever her and I are beside each other. He's so annoying. He's been teasing me about the whole thing and saying how "you ruined my innocent eyes."
Let's be serious. You and I both know that he gets sent all sorts of things on social media. He's got everyone wrapped around his finger.
We all had dinner two hours ago, it's midnight right now. All of us have been in our rooms since. I am extremely bored, I've literally been scrolling through Pinterest looking at pictures of myself.
If you were me, you would do the same thing.
Someone knocks at my door. I get up and open it; it's Oliver. "Hey mate. We gotta talk." Oliver says, pushing me aside and walking into my room.
The door shuts behind us, "about what?"
"Valentina."
I take a deep breath, running my hand through my hair. "What about her?" I ask, sitting down on my bed. "Is she good?"
"She's fine but the question is, are you good? Bro. You look at her all the time, you somehow always end up beside her, you have willingly slept in the same bed as her, you put your arm around her waist when you guys sleep together, and you always seem stressed when someone says her name. You look stressed right now."
"What are you trying to say?" I know exactly what's He's trying to say but I don't want to answer it because I don't even know myself.
"You like her."
I stay silent.
"I'm telling you it's them Soleil girls. Swear they put you under a spell. Her sister had me feeling the same way as you. João, you know damn well you like her."
"I don't. I like being around her." I shrug, "she's cool."
"Boy if you don't shut the hell up. Don't try that bullshit with me. You like her and you've started to realize it these past two days because you haven't said a single thing to her. That says enough."
"Me not talking to her could have to do with a lot of things."
He crosses his arms with a straight face, "and what would that be?" I stay silent again not thinking of a lie fast enough. "Yeah, that's what I thought."
"Alright, fine," I give in. "Im gonna be honest, I don't know. I don't know why I'm acting like this, I don't know how I feel about her, I don't know why I slept in the same bed as her more than once. I don't know why I spent three hundred dollars on. I don't know anything, Oliver. I'm fucking confused."
He stares at me with a blank expression on his face. "Oh shit. João, you like like her."
"Huh?"
"You spent three hundred dollars on a girl you aren't even dating-let alone come to terms with if you like her or not?!" He laughs at me, "you're actually stupid if you can't realize that you like her."
"Oh."
"Oh is right."
I scratch my neck, processing everything we just went through. I'm still not sure if I really like her. "Its only been two weeks though. There's no way I like her in the span of just two weeks."
"Denial, denial, denial. You most certainly can develop feelings that fast. You probably developed feelings after the first time you guys spent the night in the same bed."
"I don't know..."
"Well. You like her, pretty sure she likes you too, Florence knows, and I approve." He smiles at me, resting against the wall. "Pretty successful convo I'd say."
"What-" I'm cut off by another knock. Oliver and I give each other an odd look. I get up and open the door-
you gotta be shitting me.
"Ah, speaking of the devil." Oliver says, walking up beside me. "Hi, Val."
"Oh, hi Oliver. Sorry, I'll come back another time."
"Are you okay?" I question because she looks a bit pale.
"Nope, I'm fine." She walks off without saying another word. I watch her knock on Onyx's door and it opens. He gives her a weird look before pulling her inside.
"DAMN VAL," I hear Roman say from inside Onyx's room before the door shuts.
I turn to Oliver and he gives me a concerned look. "She looked pale right?" I ask him to make sure I'm not losing my mind.
"Yeah, no. She doesn't look good at all, but let's take a moment to think about the fact that she came to your room first."
"So?"
"She feels safe with you, durrrr" he tells me as if I'm supposed to know this. "Wow, you are dumb as fuck."
"I don't even know her favorite color? I don't know shit about her, Oliver. I just don't get it."
He groans loudly, shoving his face in his hands. "You don't have to know little things like that. You definitely know know stuff about her. The way you asked her immediately if she was okay, you definitely know something."
"Like that she has anxiety?"
"Yes. She hasn't told any of us that, only you. Has she told you what helps her?"
"Yes?"
"What did you buy with that three hundred dollars?"
"Headphones and a teddy bear?"
"Why did you buy her those things?"
"Because it helps her anxiety?"
His jaw drops and Oliver genuinely looks at me in pure disbelief that I'm not understanding what he's saying. "Bro."
"What?"
"You bought her stuff that helps with her anxiety. THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS may I add."
Now my jaw drops when I finally understand what he's saying. "Oh shit."
"Yeah. Oh shit." Oliver sighs, fully taking everything in.
"I'm not telling her."
"WHAT?!"
