MATURE THEMES AHEAD

Din's head bobbed up from where it hung forward. Out the window, Trask grew larger as the Crest flew nearer. He sat up in his seat. "Looks like we made it. Get ready for landing."

Elodie yawned, preparing herself for the rough entry into the atmosphere. None of them knew if the ship was going to maintain its integrity. For all they knew, as soon as they began descent, the heat from re-entry would consume the ship, and the G-force could tear them apart.

"Dank farrik!" Din cursed, flicking a switch that was not responding to the commands. "The landing array isn't responding. Without the guidance system, it'll be a manual re-entry. It might get choppy. Once we're through the atmosphere, there should be enough fuel to slow down. If we don't burn to a crisp."

"What can I do?" Elodie asked, passing the child to the Frog Lady. Din pressed some more controls. "Come up here. I need your hands! This lever needs to stay back. Can you do that? Keep it steady. Here we go."

The Wolven untied the fabric keeping her to the cchair, and kept a firm hold on the lever. It wanted to resist under her hand but she kept it stable.

"Razor Crest, this is Trask flight control. Please reduce your speed to port protocol." The comm voiced.

"I'm trying my best here." Din spat through clenched teeth. "Engage reverse thrusters. Brace! Hold on."

"Razor Crest, do you copy? You have to reduce speed."

"Almost there, almost there." He muttered to himself.

"Razor Crest, do you copy? Razor Crest, you're coming in too fast. You have to re-" He turned the comms off.

"Here we go. Nice and easy." On touchdown, the Crest tipped.

Elodie gasped and felt her grip slipping. Din reached out, clutching her to him as the ship inverted and landed in the vast ocean of the moon.

It took one of their cranes to fish them from the sea in order for the Crest to be set back on land, and they were able to exit into the busy dockyard. Must be a common occurrence for them not to blink an eye, Elodie thought, thankful for the solid earth beneath her feet. She'd been thrown around a lot in the past few days and considered asking Din to return a massage later. The sky was filled with heavy grey clouds, like a storm was brewing, and the wind whipped through the air wildly from the waves of the sea.

The Frog Lady released an excited noise as she spotted her husband. The Povanarians embraced. Elodie smiled at the couple, hoping to have something like that one day.

Beside her, Din and the port mechanic discussed ship repairs. "So, how can I help you?"

"Can you fix it?" The Mon Calamari looked the ship up and down. "Fix it? Nah. But I can make it fly."

"Do what you can." Din ordered, handing him a pouch full of credits to cover the cost. The Mon Calamari accepted the coins, "I'll fuel it up... if it still holds fuel."

Elodie tugged on his sleeve and dragged him over to the Frog Lady and her husband. They nuzzled their noses together lovingly. On the way, the child pouted at the brood of eggs one final time. "I know you're hungry. We'll get you something to eat." Elodie scoffed, "He's already had a second breakfast."

"He's a growing boy." Din argued.

Elodie cast the child a look of admiration, "He knows his buir has gone soft." [Father/Parent]

The husband shook their hands as they grew closer, in gratitude for delivering his family. He then went on to continue croaking, and it was evident that he, too, was unable to speak basic. Din nodded politely. "You're welcome. I was told you could lead me to others of my kind."
