Y/n

The walk to school was quite eventful, with Kyo shouting from time to time but mostly him talking about his passion for martial arts. It seems that he's opening up to me more and more as the days pass by. I hope to be someone he can confide in once again. Until then I'll enjoy where I'm at. Y/n was knocked out of her thoughts.

There's been something bothering her. Like she was being watched. A piercing gaze felt like it was trying to melt through the girl's head, she turns to look only to find nothing but an empty road. Kyo, who was walking with the h/c haired girl, stopped once he saw her stiffened figure.

His eyes glide over to the empty road she was staring at and furrowed his brows. Opening his mouth in a downturned way. "Y/n? What's wrong?" He asked, reaching a hand to hers. Y/n narrowed her e/c eyes and stared down a black car. Shit.

Her eyes now wide, she turns and pulls her arm away from the red head. "Uh— We should get going." Y/n says to the dumbfounded boy. Kyo wore a slightly pained face and turns away from her and begins walking. "Yeah. Whatever." He mumbles.

Y/n stood there for a second, with closed eyes. She knew she messed up just then, but it was for his safety. After the Kyo was further away she started walking behind him.

The black car was still parked to the side. Inside sat, Hatori and Akito. The Black-haired demon sat in the back with a glare pointed towards the disappearing girl. Hatori had an almost sympathetic look on his usual stoic face. "Liar." Akito growls.

His teeth clenched tightly, almost chipping his pearly white teeth. Hatori side eyes the front mirror. "Hatori. Set up a meeting with Ms. Kokomi. We need to have a little chat."

"What!" Niki shouts only to have Y/n cover her mouth with a pale hand. Niki twitches and muffles out sounds of annoyance. "Shh! You can't tell anyone what I told you, remember?!" Y/n shouts in a whisper. Niki nods. The two were sat in an empty classroom.

Y/n sighs and was about to pull her hand away only to feel a wet tongue slide against the palm of her hand. "Ugh!" Y/n pulls her hand away in disgust. "How'd you know it was Akito?" Niki asked the germaphobe.

Y/n uses a handkerchief to wipe her palm and sighs. "I'm not sure. Feeling, I guess. But Kyo isn't allowed to know. If he finds out he'll either run away, or he'll take Akito head on. If either happens...he'll be locked up. Forever." Y/n mumbled the last part with a frown.

Yuki, her brother, hadn't known but Niki was told about the zodiac curse after the incident with the third year. More like found out. The boy tugged her and hugged her only to find a panda placed in her spot.

The third year was her brother. The rumor was that he tried confessing but no, that wasn't what happened. Bee, his nickname, was horsing around with Y/n who was equally having fun. The two bumped into each other and were sworn to secrecy.

"Y/n, when are you going to tell Yuki?" Niki asks, referring to the marriage. Y/n shrugs and lays her head down onto the desk. "I'm so tired." Y/n let's out a shaky breath.

Biting her dried lip, she thought back to all the times she had wanted to tell her brother about everything, but to no avail, Y/n was too scared of what would happen to her brother. The sad truth was that she also feared what would happen to herself. Selfishness was nothing new to the girl. Her first selfish act being that she thought she could become friends with someone so carelessly. That selfishness ruined her relationship with so many people she held dear to her. What made it worse was when that friendship she had risked so much for, ended.

"Y/n..?" Niki shook the h/c and watched as the girl turned her head to look up at her friend. "Im sorry." Y/n mutters, making Niki tilt her head in confusion. "Sorry? Sorry for what?" Asked the brunette. "For being such a bad friend. I barely talk to you anymore. Everything we used to do, like, go shopping, sneak into movie theatres to watch free movies, eat out at restaurants that we can barely afford. We used to do that every other week. I feel like I've barely put any effort into this friendship..." Y/n sits up and grabs Niki's hand that laid one her shoulder and the other on the table and squeezed them.

"What can I do to make it up to you?" Y/n asks the girl who was shocked at this new information. "Girl, it's okay. Really it is! But if this is bothering you so much..then how about after school tomorrow we sneak into the theatre my brother works at? If anything, he can get us in for cheap." Niki gives the exhausted girl a gentle smile and pulls a hand away to pat her head.

Huffing in annoyance and swatting the hand away, Y/n looks up at the clock on the classroom wall. "I'll meet you in the courtyard and then we can walk to the theatre together. I have to get going now or else Yuki will be worried about me." Y/n stands waiting for Niki, but the girl waves her hands in the air in a soft motion. "I'm gonna stay late, today. I still have to clean up Ms. Mayuko's classroom. She'll have my head if she sees how messy it is." Niki says and Y/n nods waving a goodbye and then leaving.

The ringing of a phone buzzed through the air. Sighing softly, smile dropping and brows furrowing, Niki answered. "Yo." The person on the other end of the phone chuckles wryly. "Anything new?" Asked the slightly masculine voice.

Niki huffs out a scoff and rolled her green eyes. "The little runt keeps complaining about you and the cat." She speaks. "Even though her actions are reckless, you have no right to call my soon-to-be-wife, a runt." The voice says again.

Akito who still sat in the black vehicle narrows his eyes. The thought of his name being in the same conversation as the worthless being, agitated him. "Yeah, yeah. When's my next payment?" Niki's voice comes from the phone in a staticky way.

His narrowed eyes held amusement behind them. "You'll get it by tomorrow." Akito says and hangs up on the girl. Turning his head to look out the window, he sees the girl he was so madly obsessed with, walking alone.

"Hatori. Let's head home."

Once home, Y/n leaned down to untie her rugged shoes. "Ah, you're home late." The monotone voice says. Looking up with an apologetic smile, she sees her brother standing with a towel wrapped around his neck. "Sorry, I was talking to Niki for a while before I left." The boy's face reddened at the mention of the energetic girl. "Tohru just finished dinner. She also has something to tell us.. she hasn't said anything since." Yuki whispered to his sister who was now standing beside him as they walked to the kitchen.

Where the usual happy and enthusiastic Tohru would stand, cooking dinner, now stood a gloomy Tohru. "Tohru?"

The brunette turns and gives a forced smile. "Your home!" Y/n only frowns and tilts her head. What's got her so down..?
