“Miss Lee, I really wasn’t trying to fool you. This isn’t my fault,” Mark explained pitifully.

“Is it my fault, then?”

It was our Boss who refused to let him go. As his second-in-command, there was nothing I could have done. Although he felt extremely bitter about this, his boss had instructed him to shoulder this wrongdoing.

Thus, Mark could only reply. “We’re both not in the wrong.”

Lisa understood that Mark did not possess any reasons to keep Wang Liangping away from her.

Lisa deliberated over this and decided not to pursue the matter any longer. “Since you’ve caught him, when will you hand him over?”

“I’m abroad right now. I was planning on returning today, but I’m suddenly being pursued for revenge. Give me a few days. After I kill these people, I’ll immediately return to the country and hand him over to you.” Mark lifted his phone and showed her the hotel room he was in. “I can hear their footsteps. They’re on their way here right now!”

Indeed. A moment later, with a loud crash, the hotel room was kicked open. Several men dressed in black suits and masks then rushed into the room, firing their guns at him.

Mark kicked the bed forward to block the bullets and climbed out of the window. He then snuck his way into the room next door. “Miss Lee, they are pursuing me. I’ll have to end the call here. See you when I’m back!”

Lisa stared at her phone in silence for several seconds.

Given that his life was at stake, she would give him some time.

She could remain patient for several more days.

She glanced at the middle-aged man in the room. “Your second-in-command is being pursued. Aren’t you going to help him?”

“He said that he could handle this alone.”

Lisa shrugged carelessly and left the unassuming ‘private home’.

She walked down the street and enjoyed the cool breeze.

She had been especially busy for the past few days. Why did it seem like she had forgotten about something?
