That was the beginning of her nightmare. After their marriage, she finally realised that Yook Sungjae had serious, abusive tendencies. He left her covered in wounds and bruises everyday. She suffered three instances of miscarriage and her body was permanently harmed. She was no longer able to conceive.
The two years of messages, letters and feelings which he had poured into her were all faked. During their fights, she learned that he had spent money to pay someone to send those things to her. The only time he personally did anything for her was when they used to meet up.
Sungjae then threatened her with her family’s safety, preventing her from going for a divorce. He even kept a mistress outside and eventually had an illegitimate son with his mistress…
For the sake of giving his mistress and child a proper status, the Yook family claimed that she was mentally insane.
At the time, her parents tried to seek justice on her behalf but were targeted by Elder Yook. The entire Chou Corporation eventually became bankrupt.
In the end, she could no longer tolerate this and killed Sungjae. She then took her own life.
“Ah… no, no!” Amidst her sleep, Tzuyu cried out in fear.
Lisa sat by her bedside and gathered her attention to activate her power.
She had one hand on Tzuyu’s forehead as she slowly transferred her own memories of Tzuyu’s previous life into her mind.
Although Tzuyu hadn’t been reborn, she had the right to know the truth about the things that were supposed to have happened to her.
Lisa could not admit that she had been reborn. Thus, she could only allow Tzuyu to experience these things through her dream.
If Tzuyu was unwilling to deliberate over this issue, even if she activated her powers, Tzuyu would not be able to have these experiences through her dreams.
However…
She watched as Tzuyu suffered in her dreams.
Lisa understood that her attempt was successful.
The moon shone brightly on this night.
A gust of cold wind rushed into the Chou family’s home, rustling the curtains with it.
Tzuyu gradually awoke from her deep sleep. The first thing she saw was Lisa seated by her bedside. She had rested her chin on her palm and was dozing.
She turned to the clock and saw amidst the darkness that it was already 3:00 a.m..
Her good friend did not return to the Yu Ting Villa to be with Jungkook. Instead, she was guarding by her side.
Tzuyu felt moved. She called out softly. “Lisa.” She truly hoped she would be able to cherish this friendship forever.
Lisa yawned and smiled. “You’re awake.”
The sleeping pills’ effect had finally worn off.
She sat up and embraced Lisa, crying softly. “My dear, I had a terrifying dream. In my dream, I married Yook Sungjae and suffered four miscarriages. Yook Sungjae, that abusive pervert, he even had a mistress and gave birth to a son with that mistress. During that period, he beat me up everyday…”
It was not a dream, but the actual incidents that had happened in Tzuyu’s previous life.
The only difference was that Lisa had interfered in this life.
Lisa hugged her and comforted softly. “It’s just a dream.”
“But it felt too real to me, as though it really happened!” Tzuyu trembled in fear.
She suddenly pressed a heavy kiss against Lisa’s cheek. “My dear, I really feel that if I continued being with Yook Sungjae, all of those things would have happened! You saved me!”
“En.” Lisa nodded.
Good friends never lied to one another. Since she nodded, it meant that it was the truth.
Tzuyu’s dream did not include anything unrelated to Sungjae that would happen in the future. This was because she wasn’t actually reborn. “Then, how did you know that those things would have happened had you not interfered?”
Lisa sat up and turned to look at a glass of water on the table. Her gaze turned cold.
