"Shit," Lori said.
"Why is he following us?" Cash asked.
Lori just looked at him like a scared rabbit caught in a car's headlights.
"You've got to shake him," she said. "You've got to. I got a bad feeling, Cash. Real bad."
Something in the sound of her voice told Cash this was deadly serious. He was driving the truck down the country roads like a maniac, but the black sedan was gaining.
"What time is it?" he asked.
"What?"
"You heard me," he said. "What time is it?"
Lori looked at her watch.
"Almost nine."
"Just hang on," he said. "And ..."
He glanced her way.
"And what, Cash?"
"Pray."
