His Pretty Little Lie

Julianna's POV
It was now after school so I'm at cheer practice. I'd been dreading coming here all day because of what happened with Mason. I know it was my choice but I regret it. These girls can be pretty brutal, but most of the time tolerable. Mason knows how to make a girl feel special. Knows how to make you forget all about the world around you and just live. I'd made it through changing, I'd heard some little comments here and there but nothing too bad. Now we're outside and since the coach isn't here, Blair's leading practice today and she is a killer coach. She makes you sweat and end up in pain before you leave.

"15 laps, then we're gonna do some stretches then practice the routine some more ok? GO." She ordered and everyone groaned but agreed. 

The laps started and everything was going good until I heard a voice talk behind me.

"Hi slut." Alara. Who else but her?

"Hey whore." I replied.

"What's your deal with Grayson huh? Everyone's been saying that you two have been a little busy together."

"Yes. We have. We're going out. Yeah, Mason is my boyfriend. Got an issue with that Alara!? You have plenty of hoes so stay away from what's not yours and never will be yours." That was a big fat lie and I know it, but I mean mason does like me so it's not like it could never happen.

"Bitch. He texted me before practice, he wants me to come over to this after so obviously that's a lie because we both know Mason would never go for a skanky ass bitch like you." Now I know that that was a lie, he blocked her this morning. She lies about everything. I stopped running and turned to her, she stopped running and turned to me. I may regret this later but act like a bitch and you get slapped. I gave Alara one massive slap in the middle of the field.

"Don't you ever open that mouth of yours to talk shit on me ever again. Mason has high standards, one's that you'd never reach. And we both know that." I went back to my running like nothing happened leaving her shocked, I know for a fact that even if teachers got involved no one would actually believe or help her. No one likes her. She's dated every guy in the school and messed up countless relationships with her lies. People tolerate her because her parents are rich so that means she's got money to spend on people. That slap was deserved and needed to happen.

After practice was done, I rushed out of there with my sister.

"So that slap. She deserved it but what did she do to you?" Blair asked.

"Mason."

"Wow wow, that was defensive, you really do like him then."

"He asked me on a date. And I said maybe. But you know what I want to go. It'd piss Alara off if she found out but I wanna see, if there's a future with him. Like could we ever I don't know work out?"

"What are you doing Liana. Pull out your damn phone and text him!" I followed her instructions and sent the text.

"I can't believe I just did that. I haven't been on a date in a billion years. Asher only took me out 5 times in all the times we were together. I can't do thi-"

"Shut up before I slap you. I'm your sister, I'll help you ok? With hair and makeup and advice. This is gonna be the best date of your life, and even if it's not at least you looked pretty." She smiles as we get into my jeep. I smile back.

"Thanks Blair."

The Next Day
When I arrived at volunteering, me and Mason were serving food and every time we'd pass into each other there'd be a touch bit of playful flirting. He's starting to make me feel nervous, I want him to see the best version of me. Which means I defo like him.

"So, should I date him?" I asked Miss Odette.

"When you're on that date, think of 5 reasons why he's better than any other guy, then think of how you'd feel if you guys started to date."

"Thanks Mrs Odette."

"Course sweetie anytime." When she says anytime, that just leaves me a bit worried because truly, she may not make it tomorrow, she's a strong person yes but the older you get the harder it is to keep on fighting.

"Everyone please come to the main hall, thank you." The main hall. The last time this happened, it was bad news, someone died so could it be the same news?

"Hello everyone, Mr Rowan has passed away. He had a heart attack and sadly, he didn't make it. A funeral will soon be held for him." Another death really? I looked around trying to find Mason but he was no where to be found in the small crowd, maybe he's in the bathroom? I started to walk away from the crowd to look for him when I saw him getting off his phone.

"Mr Rowan's dead, heart attack. Isn't it weird how these things keep happening around here? A month hasn't passed since the last death, the funeral hasn't even started yet and another persons dead?"

"Well I mean they are pretty old, it makes sense, we all have to go soon."

"Yeah I guess you're right. I saw you on the phone, you looked pretty stressed out."

"Oh that, it's nothing, just an annoying pest from the past." He said pulling me and kissing my forehead. "And, thank you for saying yes." He smiled a boyish smile.

"I could change my mind anytime."

"It's gonna be the best date of your life, trust me."
