Our story begins with what the two sisters saw that night, one meek and curious, one bold and beautiful. The heiress, the black sheep and the prince. All in the room were born of noble birth with crowns of gold and the girls with born with a flimsy straw hat, woven at her own accord. The children waited impatiently in the parlor, the girls in matching itchy christmas tights, and the boy children in tweed coats their fathers insisted would look rather smart on them. The sweet scent of apple pie and cinamon was prevelant in the air, mixed with the overwhelming aroma of melting wax candles in the foyer, vanilla, or perhaps pumpkin spice.

The building blocks and raggedy anne doll sat between them, they were eight years old at the time and this wouldn't be the first time curiosity got the best of them. The Sikazwe sisters, Cassidy & Genesis had been thick as thieves since they met.

Cassidy piled the blocks on top of one another in boredom, she found it rather insulting that her; a promising young woman who was already exceeding expectations and excelling at 6th grade mathematics would be made to play with blocks like an infant.

"This is contemptuous." Cass scorned looking at the holographic clock on the wall, tugging at the red ribbon in her hair.

"But mummy and daddy said that we should be on our best behavior." Genesis warned, knowing her sister's rebellious streak.
